“We came to each other. Wanted to help you,” Damien answers, but I can tell that’s not exactly the truth.

“And you found something?” Dread and anxiety sweep over me.

“Kind of.” Dominic pulls me into his arms, kissing the top of my head.

“We know it’s a woman.” Damien’s eyes pierce through me.

“A woman? Well, then it has to be that Rosalind.”

“I don’t know,” Damien hedges. “She was pretty, but not...”

I don’t like the way he trails off. “But what? Not as pretty as Rosalind?”

Damien huffs out a breath. “That’s not what I meant.”

“That’s what you said!”

“Who the hell is Rosalind and why are you so jealous of her?” Sebastian pipes up, groomed eyebrows raised.

“She’s just an employee,” Damien snaps, and Dominic raises his hands to stop the conversation.

“Please stop arguing.” He looks tired, worried, pale. I almost feel bad for him. “We have to work together to try and save Carter Holdings.”

I stare at Sebastian curiously. “Why are you doing this, Bash? You’ve got no dog in this fight. It’s not like Titan is going to fire you even if all of this comes out.”

He shrugs. “Like you said, I’ve got nothing to lose.”

I narrow my eyes. “There’s more to it than that.”

“I like you. A little. And I don’t want to date someone broke.”

I snort out a laugh. “Really?”

I lean toward him, and Dominic exhales hard from his nostrils.

“Really. I don’t want to see you out on the street. So, we’re going to figure this out.”

“Thank you. Thank all of you. But I just can’t believe you’re all getting along.”

“Getting along is relative,” Damien says flatly.

“Don’t know what you mean, kiddo. We’re practically best pals.” Sebastian puts an arm around Damien, and it looks like he’s putting an arm around a mannequin.

I laugh out loud. “I guess you’ve all come to some sort of truce?”

“Something like that,” Dominic murmurs.

“And?”

“And what?” Damien grins, and I stick out my tongue at him.

He smiles at me fondly before answering. “There’s nothing we can do until the baby is born. Until you make a choice.”

“Not me, I’m out of the running,” Sebastian mutters, and my heart falls.

I thought things between us were... different. I thought he cared. I wish there was a way I could tell them I have feelings for all of them without starting a fight.

But I have to bite my tongue. “Okay, well... I guess I’ll have some time to think about things. And otherwise, things go on as before?”
