“By the state of you, it smells like it.” I wrinkle my nose.
“Did I... I called you.” He goes pale, and it’s almost funny.
Or would be if I wasn’t so exasperated with him and Sebastian.
“Yeah, you called me. At three in the morning. I picked you guys up from a strip club.”
“Oh,no.”
“Oh, yes.”
“If it makes you feel better, we never even went in!” Sebastian calls from the living room, and I can’t help laughing.
“We were way too drunk to get in,” Dominic mutters.
“Well, I guess I’m glad the two of you are getting along.”
Am I glad? It’s kind of weird, right?
Sebastian had been pretty open with me about his jealousy, and that’s a good thing.
Now if only Dominic would do the same.
He snorts, running a hand through his hair. “Not like I have a choice.”
I stiffen. “Listen, if you don’t like the way things are, you don’t have to hang around.”
Dominic frowns, holding out his hands in defense. “Don’t be like that, Liv. That’s not what I meant, and you know it.”
“Do I? You don’t talk to me, Dom, you don’t?—”
“I’m talking to you now.” He cups my face with one hand. “And I just want us to be us again, Liv. I just want me and you, and whoever this baby’s father is can be a part of their life. But he doesn’t have to be a part of yours.”
I tremble. “I can’t do that right now, Dominic. I have to see how this plays out.”
His eye twitches, jaw working. “Have to see who you’ll choose?”
“Dom, it’s not like that?—”
“Sure, it’s not.” He gets up and adjusts his clothes, leaving the apartment before I can say anything else.
Sebastian blinks when I walk into the living room.
“You really got under his skin.”
I groan. “I didn’t mean to. He’s just so jealous.”
“He’s trying to keep what’s his. I get it.”
“I don’t belong to anyone. I never will.”
“I get that, little girl, but he doesn’t. Maybe he’ll come around, maybe he won’t. You can’t stress too much about it.” He places a hand on my belly. “Bad for the little one.”
I sigh and stand up. “You’re right. So, get out.”
He stares at me for a moment, and I throw a pillow at him.
“You two stressed me out last night, so now you both leave.”
