By the time I get to the kitchen, I’m wide awake, throwing together a protein smoothie before I head out for a run down the beach.
As I toss in some frozen fruit, Asher wanders in, shirtless, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.
“She awake?” I ask, blending the smoothie.
Asher laughs, twisting the cap off his water. “Ms. Puck Bunny? Nah, she’s dead to the world. Gonna need at least two more hours before she even moves.”
“Makes sense. She left fucking scratches down my back.”
Asher lifts his arm, examining a set of red lines down his bicep. “Yeah, she was a little wild. Not complaining, though.”
“Neither am I.”
I take a sip of my smoothie, leaning against the counter, stretching my sore shoulders.
“Heading for a run?” Asher asks.
“Yeah, need to get it in before practice.”
He nods, rolling his shoulders, still loose from last night. “I gotta swing by and pick up the mascot uniform.”
I pause, brow raised. “The fuck for?”
He grins. “Old mascot tore his ACL at the last game. Coach Ace is scrambling to find a replacement before next week.”
I shake my head, chuckling. “Damn. He’s probably just gonna make Kieran wear it.”
Asher bursts out laughing. “Can you imagine? That big fucker stuffed into a giant ice block costume?”
“That’s a team bonding exercise waiting to happen.”
“Or a lawsuit.”
I laugh, grabbing my keys. “Alright, I’m out.”
Asher waves me off, already heading back toward the bedroom. “See you at practice. I’m going back to snuggle with her. If she is awake, I’ve still got one more round in me.”
I shake my head as I head for the door.
Fucking Asher.
CHAPTER FIVE
Madeline
The warmth is familiar.
For a second, in the haze of waking up, I think it’s Ethan. But the arm draped over my waist is too strong, too solid.
And Ethan was never this warm.
The memories flood in all at once—Leo’s hands gripping my hips, his mouth wrecking me, his cock filling me so completely that I’d forgotten my own name.
I shift slightly, and something thick and hard presses against my thigh. Leo is still hard.
“Hey, baby,” he murmurs, voice gravelly, vibrating against my skin. A shiver rolls through me.
“Hey,” I whisper, a small smile tugging at my lips.
