Erin shrugged. “I have it on good authority that one of the judges is amazing eye candy.” She smirked. “No, but seriously, I’m going to watch it to support you. We could even make it a weekly date night. We can order takeout or cook together, and Cruz and I can try to guess who’s going home each episode. We can keep tabs, and the winner gets a prize.”
“That sounds like fun, and I’m sure Cruz will be all for it since the two of you don’t seem to know how not to compete.” He propped his phone up and grabbed a pair of boxers. “How are the sorority tattoos coming?”
“They’re great. I only have a few more to do, but everyone’s been happy with them so far.”
Paetyn removed the towel around his waist. “That’s good, baby. I had a thought a couple of days ago that we should get you a couple of billboards in town. You’re doing great with word of mouth and social media marketing, but it never hurts to expand your reach.” When she didn’t respond, he turned his attention to the phone. “Baby?”
“I’m sorry, babe. What?” she asked, focus slowly moving back to his face as he slipped on his boxers.
“Distracted, Angel?”
“Look, you were naked, and I enjoy the view. I can’t be held responsible for getting tunnel vision when it happens.”
That made two of them. It took every ounce of his patience to make her wait for him to get home when she sent him a new picture or teased him when they spoke. He was determined to do it. Allow it to build so he could take every second of it out on her pussy. He grabbed his phone and got into bed, resting against the headboard.
“I need the next few days to go by quickly,” she sighed. “I miss you, and it helps that I can talk to you, but…”
“I miss you too, baby, but I’ll be home soon, and we’ll make up for every minute we were apart.”
Erin nodded. “What time do you have to be on set tomorrow?”
Paetyn knew why she was asking. He was two hours ahead of her, and he knew she considered that when they spoke.
“Not until nine. We’re good.”
“About this billboard thing. Do you think having one would be a good idea?”
“So you did hear me,” Paetyn teased. “But yes, I do. Especially if it’s eye-catching, people won’t have a choice but look at it. We can put the shop’s phone number there, but having your social media handles is also good. Those can be easier to remember than a number.”
“Okay. Maybe I’ll start with one to see how it does and go from there.”
They spoke for an hour until Erin started yawning, and Paetyn insisted that she get some sleep. To which she’d narrowed her eyes and told him if anyone should be going to sleep, it was him since it was after two in the morning for him. She had him there.
He placed his phone on the charger before turning out the lights and getting comfortable in bed. Four more days. That’s all he had to wait.
Erin was sitting on the couch at the back of her shop when Dahlia sent her a text telling her she had a package. She furrowed her brow, tossing her phone onto the couch. She didn’t remember ordering anything, but she’d placed several supplies on auto-ship so she wouldn’t have to worry about running out.
Her feet picked up speed no sooner than she rounded the corner, and before she knew it, she found herself with her legs around his waist, her lips on his as he held her up, chuckling into the kiss.
“I’m happy to see you too, Angel.”
“Your flight wasn’t supposed to land for five hours. I was going to surprise you.”
“I decided to leave early,” Paetyn responded as he walked them to the back. Erin had momentarily forgotten they were standing in the middle of her place of business where Torei was taking care of a customer. He sat on the couch with her straddling him.
“When did you land?”
“Not too long ago. I wanted to see you and came straight here.”
Erin kissed him again, mildly contemplating asking him to take her home. However, she had three more sessions before they closed, and she wouldn’t reschedule them just because she wanted to give her man a proper welcome home. But the matching tattoos she was doing weren’t scheduled to show up for two hours.
“I have a couple of hours before my next appointment. Why don’t we go have each other for lunch,” she suggested.
“I’m not going to say no when you’re my favorite thing to eat, Angel.”
Erin smirked, sliding off his lap and leading him back to the front.
“I’ll be back before my next appointment,” Erin informed Dahlia and Torei.
