“Don’t you look beautiful? That boy of mine isn’t going to know how to behave.”

“Thank you,” Kaydence responded.

“Axel just walked to his spot. Are you ready?” Ms. Rose then questioned.

“I am,” Kaydence replied.

They left the room and walked to the doors leading to where the guests were seated waiting for the ceremony. Journee saw how the men were lined up; Killian before Jax and walked to him. Ms. Rose excused herself to take her seat.

Journee turned to everyone left. “I know we didn’t get to do a run-through, but this will be simple. Once the couple in front of you reaches the altar, wait three seconds and then go. Kaydence, the song will change before you, Ian, and Courtney walk down. When it does, wait for the beat to drop and head out. You’ll know when it happens.”

She’d chosen the one consistent piece in Kaydence’s wedding plan from when they were teenagers, the song she wanted to walk down the aisle to. They’d all just finished lining up when the music started.

The doors opened, and the guest came into view. Journee was still shocked by the number of people who’d made it. She was happy it was a nice turnout for Axel and Kaydence. She began down the aisle. They had a wedding to start.

Killian watched as Axel and Kaydence shared their first dance as husband and wife. Though if he were being honest, most of it was spent with Axel stealing kisses from his new bride.

He still couldn’t believe how well everything turned out in six days. Killian shouldn’t have been surprised. He hadn’t seen any of the events that Journee planned, but from how she spoke about them, he knew she put her all into them. The fact that this was her best friend’s wedding, someone she considered a sister, meant she’d put in even more in the short time.

Killian’s eyes swept around the reception, seeking Journee out. He found her watching the couple on the dance floor as she spoke to the bartender. He knew that she was instructing them. She was still working, even though she was supposed to enjoy the reception.

As the song faded out, he walked over and wrapped his arms around Journee’s waist. “Come talk to me,” Killian whispered in her ear.

“Give me just a minute, baby,” she responded before asking the bartender if he was sure he had enough champagne for the final toast.

Killian was sure he did; even if he didn’t, people wouldn’t mind drinking something else. He knew she wanted it to be perfect for Kaydence, but he also knew she’d been working long hours to make it happen and getting little sleep. Not to mention she had another event she was working on in tandem.

“I only get to see you today, and I’m feeling neglected, Tigress,” he whispered in her ear before placing a gentle kiss behind it. He wasn’t, but he wanted her to relax. Journee nodded, and Killian removed his arms from her waist and grabbed her hand, pulling her over to their table.

He pulled out Journee’s chair before taking his own. Her body relaxed a little, and he knew she was tired. Reaching out, he grabbed the bottom of her chair and pulled her closer to him. He leaned over, capturing her lips in a kiss. When they pulled apart, Killian leaned back in his chair.

“Have I told you how phenomenal this turned out?” he questioned.

“You haven’t, but thank you. I’m glad it all came together.”

“And have I told you how unbelievably beautiful you look?”

Journee smiled at him. “That you have told me. You look quite handsome yourself. What time is your flight tonight?”

“Six thirty-five.”

Journee scrunched her nose at him, and Killian couldn’t help but smile at how cute she looked. “Well, I guess I’ll have to do my best to keep most of your attention while you’re here.”

Killian smirked at her. “You can have it all if you want, Tigress.”

Journee returned his smirk. “I know, but that would be selfish.”

He leaned in again, his lips barely brushing hers. “Be selfish.”

She giggled, placing her hand on his chest to push him back as she shook her head. He enjoyed listening to her laugh and seeing her smile. While it hadn’t been much, he’d helped her relax, and that’s all he wanted.

Killian watched Axel and Kaydence go to the car. They were leaving to head out on their honeymoon. The ceremony was winding down, but they decided to leave early. Once at the car, Kaydence turned her back, throwing her bouquet. He watched it sail through the air before landing on a box Journee held. She looked at it before tipping the box and shooing it off towards the other women, and Aryah caught it.

Axel raised a brow at him smirking, and Killian flipped him off before going to take the box from Journee. She thanked him, and he followed her to her car to load it. He knew there were a couple more boxes of decorations, but the venue staff would clean everything else. Killian was thankful for that because he wanted Journee to relax for the rest of the evening.

They went back inside, Killian stopping off to grab the bag with the clothes he’d changed out of before getting the other two boxes. Once outside, he loaded them in Journee’s trunk, closing it.
