“Yes,” David responded. “It isn’t my fault that she’s so outspoken and has this need to control everything and wouldn’t allow me to be the man in our relationship. Just wait, you’ll see.”

“You son of a bitch,” Journee stated, jumping to her feet. If he wanted her to punch him, he could just say that because he was excellent at causing her to want to.

Killian wrapped his arm around Journee’s waist and pulled her back against his chest. “I got it, Tigress,” he started. “A woman doesn’t have to let you lead, you either can or you can’t. I don’t have an issue with her being outspoken, and there’s no need for her to feel the need to control everything when we’re together because I handle what she needs.”

“You don’t mind it now,” David stated, looking Journee up and down. “But trust me, it gets annoying.”

“Who the fuck are you—” Journee started, stepping towards David, but Killian pulled her back and cut her off.

“I said I got it, baby.”

Journee nodded, leaning her head back against his chest, and the confusion in David’s eyes was evident, but she could also see the irritation in them. He was witnessing what he’d wanted from her given to another man. Unfortunately for him, it seemed he didn’t know that submission, in all forms, was earned, and he hadn’t been able to do so.

“David,” Kaydence called, and he turned his attention to her. “When a man can tell a woman what to do, he can tell her what to do.” She gestured to Axel and Killian.

“And when he can’t, he can’t,” Journee finished, gesturing to David. “It’s that simple.”

“Whatever,” David stated before walking off, and Killian and Journee took their seats.

“I’m getting tired of seeing him,” Killian stated.

“You’ve seen him, what? Twice?” Journee asked.

“That’s two times too many,” Killian replied.

“Oooh, you sound like someone who’s jealous,” Journee teased.

Killian raised an eyebrow at her. “And you sound like someone who doesn’t want to be able to walk tomorrow.”

Kaydence laughed, and Journee wasn’t going to protest. She didn’t have any plans other than a lazy Sunday. She could still have that without being able to walk.

“Good luck,” Kaydence wished her.

“You’ll need it too,” Axel spoke. “I like Kil’s idea.”

Kaydence raised her glass to Journee after looking at Axel briefly.“It looks like we’re in for a good night.”

Journee clicked her glass to Kaydence’s. “A great night,” she countered.

They laughed as their server returned, and the men placed drink orders. When they were alone again, the four picked up their menus, and Journee couldn’t wait to get to the games.

Killian chuckled at Journee’s little happy dance while her tickets spilled from the Pacman game she’d just finished playing. They’d played a few games so far, and she was racking up tickets for the Tweety Bird behind the prize counter.

When the machine finished releasing tickets, she gathered them and folded the long strip to fit with the other ones she had. She stepped in front of him, and Killian looked down at her.

“Will you play two games for me?” she asked, a slight pout on her lips. He knew it was to coax him into playing whatever she wanted, but she didn’t need it. He’d play for her.

“Of course, Tigress.”

When they started playing, she’d asked him to play the first few games with her, but she hadn’t asked him to play a game for her. The Pacman game was the first she’d played by herself.

Journee took his hand, and Killian followed her to a different part of the game area. They stopped in front of a test your strength game, and Killian lifted a brow at her. This was technically a game they could play together.

“You don’t want to take a turn, baby?” he asked.

She shook her head. “No. It only gives you tickets if you hit the bell at the top.”
