“I know that, but I asked you out. At no time am I going to do that and expect you to pay for it.”
“So, you’re saying I could pay for it if I asked you out.”
“That’s not what I’m saying either.”
“Killian,” Journee groaned, which caused him to laugh. “Where did you want to take me?” she questioned.
“It’s a surprise,” Killian responded, releasing her chin. “But I think you’ll like it.
Journee nodded at him, putting on her seatbelt. She was sure she’d like it. She’d yet to go anywhere with Killian and not enjoy it.

Killian pulled into the mostly empty parking lot. He’d stumbled across the little park a couple of days ago when he’d gotten lost going to the market. He figured it was mainly used for the running trail that ran through it, but it had a small pond that he wasn’t sure was natural or man-made. He’d noticed lights around it when he’d walked to see what it was. That was where he wanted to take her.
Getting out of the car, he walked to the passenger side as Journee opened the door. Holding his hand out, he helped her out of the car when she placed hers in it.
Killian locked the car, placed the keys in his pocket and picked her up, causing her to gasp a bit in surprise. While the park wasn’t too large, they would have to walk a bit to get to where he wanted to take her, and he didn’t want to make her do so in her heels.
“I can walk. You don’t have to carry me,” she told him as he began to head down the path.
“I’m sure you can, Tigress, but I’m not going to let you. I’d rather know that your feet aren’t hurting when we leave.”
Journee wrapped her arms around his neck. “How am I supposed to complain about that?”
Killian pecked her lips. “You’re not.”
“When did you stumble across this place?” she questioned as they walked along the path.
“A couple of days ago. Have you been before?”
She shook her head. “No, I knew it was here, and I’ve driven by a few times, but I’ve never stopped.”
Killian was glad he was bringing her somewhere she hadn’t been before, though if she had, it wouldn’t have taken away from it, in his opinion, because it would have been the first time that the two of them had been together.
“It’s been a while since I was on a romantic walk.”
“Is this considered a romantic walk if you’re not walking?” Killian questioned.
“You were the one who insisted on carrying me,” Journee reminded him. “So yes.” She leaned up and nipped at his neck. “It counts.”
Killian stopped walking, looking down at her. “A tree is not the softest thing to have your back against while I’m making you cum,” he told her and watched as her eyes widened slightly. When she didn’t say anything, Killian continued down the path.
When they made it to the pond, he walked to one of the three benches around it and sat down, placing Journee on his lap. She turned, leaning against his chest as she took in the pond.
“It’s pretty. I wouldn’t have thought there was a pond here,” she confessed as Killian wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I was surprised to see it as well.”
“Next time we come back, we should have a picnic,” Journee spoke.
“We can do that, baby.”
With the weather getting cooler, Killian knew they’d need to do it soon. He wouldn’t bring her back tomorrow, but he’d plan it for a week or so out.
While they sat, he asked her about the client she had. He’d refrained from doing so during dinner, thinking that maybe she wanted a couple of hours to decompress.
Once Journee finished telling him about the potential client, Killian began to run his hands up and down her arms as the wind started to pick up a bit. She’d left her jacket in the car, and he didn’t want her getting cold.
