“You know it. That first year we practically wrapped her in bubble wrap and duct taped her to the raft.” Kylie shook her head. “She’s fearless and utterly terrifying.”

“She’s amazing.” That was so cool. “She’ll put you out of a job someday.”

“I’m counting on it.” Kylie winked, making her tingle a little. “What are you doing tonight?”

“Uh—” She stared, not sure what to say.

“Come to Cherry’s with us and have some pizza. You’ll love it.”

“Us?” If Kylie had a main squeeze she was going to be disappointed.

“Yeah. Joe. Jilly. A couple of other folks.”

“Okay, sure. Uh. Are you driving?”

“I am.” Kylie grinned. “I figure you guys need a beer.”

“God, yes. Yes.” She bounced on her toes. “Do I have time to get changed?”

“Of course. I’ve got a locker here, so I don’t have to go home.”

“Cool. I’ll wash off and get dressed. Thanks for asking me.” She really wanted to hang with Kylie some, see what made her tick. Just watch her do anything, really. She was hot as hell with her bright blue eyes, fashionably short blonde hair, and long legs.

“No problem. Come on up to the office when you’re ready.” Kylie fired off a salute and headed up toward the big main building.

She went to her room, finding a decent t-shirt and a pair of clean jeans, catching Jilly doing the same.

“You coming for pizza, girl?”

“I am.” She grinned over. “Is it good pizza?”

“It’s kind of amazing. The dough is super thick around the edge, but it’s not gross, and the bottom crust is almost New York thin. I like to dip it in ranch.”

“What are you? Texan?” Brittany teased.

“Houston, baybee!” Jilly cracked up.

“Oh, see? I knew it!” She headed out to the outdoor shower, since she could hear someone inside already. She just needed to rinse off a little and put on some deodorant. She was already tenderized like a chicken breast.

By the time they were all dressed and loading up, everyone looked almost unrecognizable.

She liked that there was a difference between work and play. Sure, everyone was still in shorts, and most of them had a hoodie because the nights got cool up this high. But everyone cleaned up well.

Then Kylie appeared. And holy shit, that girl was fire. Long legs were encased in jeans that were faded and artfully ripped at the knees. She’d topped that off with a white button-down shirt and a necklace of big turquoise nuggets on liquid silver. Shit, Kylie was freaking primal.

Her tongue was stuck to the roof of her mouth, and she wanted to just worship for a few hours.

The cowboy boots instead of flip-flops sealed the deal. Jesus, she might just fall over.

“Hey, you two. We’re just waiting on Milo. Joe has already taken a couple of the kids on up.”

“I’m here!” Milo came pelting out of the office. “Sorry, I had a bad hoof on Sugarloaf. So I had to let the boss know she’d need the farrier in tomorrow.”

“Yeah? That sucks. Seriously. You still coming?”

Milo stared at Kylie. “Duh!”

“Dork. Come on, then. They’re waiting.”
