It was Ivy who stepped forward, understanding in her gaze as she laid a hand on Cordelia’s arm. “I think you should do it.”
Head snapping around, Cordelia stared at her babygirl. “You can’t be serious.”
“Jacob, would you mind giving us the room for a minute?” Ivy asked without taking her eyes off Cordelia’s face.
He hesitated a moment, but then Ivy looked over and smiled at him, a smile that made him want to do everything she asked and he nodded. “All right.”
Turning his back on them, he forced himself to leave the kitchen. And leave his fate in their hands.
Chapter 20
Cordelia
“You cannot be serious,” Cordelia repeated, dropping her voice to a low hiss as Jacob exited the kitchen.
But Ivy met her gaze head on, seemingly undeterred by the warning in Cordelia’s voice. “So serious. Did you see that look in his eyes, Dee? He wants this.”
“You can’t possibly know that.”
“I can. Because he told us, in his own words, but also because I know that look, Dee. It’s exactly how I felt when I first started out in kink. It’s curiosity and fear and excitement. But more than that, it’s just… knowing. Finally knowing that you’re embracing a part of yourself you’ve tried to deny for so long. Don’t you remember that feeling?”
Worry twisted in her gut. “I do, but… he doesn't actually know anything about kink. Not enough to know what he wants.”
“He knows enough to fantasize about you spanking him.”
True. And yet… “That’s not enough and you know it.”
“Why not? You aren’t going to tie him to a cross and whip him until he bleeds. It’s just a spanking, Dee.”
“It isn’t just anything. You don’t know what it’s like, leaving that world. Nothing is as simple or as easy as it is for other people. This is him completely abandoning a lifetime of teachings. I can’t take that lightly, blossom.”
Cupping Cordelia’s face in her hands, Ivy’s eyes flickered back and forth, searching for… something, Cordelia wasn’t sure what. “You’ve asked me to trust you with some pretty heavy stuff the past few weeks. So now I’m going to ask the same thing of you. Do you trust me?”
With my life. “Of course I trust you, baby. It’s not about not trusting you.”
“But it is.” The soft urgency in Ivy’s tone was impossible to miss. “I’m asking you to trust me, as your partner, as your submissive, when I tell you that this feels like the right thing to do. Can you trust that, Daddy?”
Daddy. That single word unraveled some of the knots in her stomach, knocked down walls she hadn’t even known were standing between them. “I trust you, Ivy, with everything I have. It’s just… it’s not that simple.”
“I know. And if you feel, really feel in your gut, that this is wrong and you can’t go through with it, I’ll trust you. I’m just asking you to take a minute and think about what I’ve said. And to trust that I would never try to convince you to do something that I thought would harm you or us or that sweet boy.” A smile curved her lips. “Trust me, and trust yourself. You’re a good Domme, Cordelia. And like you said, you’re the only one who knows what he’s been through. How could there possibly be anyone better to introduce him to our world if that’s what he really wants?”
All excellent points. And ones she might have thought of herself if she hadn’t been so caught up in convincing herself she didn’t want this.
That was what really scared her. Not Jacob and his lack of experience, but her own desires, running hot through her veins. She wanted this, wanted him in ways that terrified her. It wasn’t fair to put those expectations on him, not so soon after he’d left that world.
But was it fair to deny him something he so clearly wanted just because she was scared?
Because Ivy was right. She had seen that look in his eyes. The need, the want, the hunger. And she remembered that feeling like it was yesterday.
Still… “What about you?”
Surprise had Ivy’s eyebrows raising. “What about me?”
“Just yesterday you were feeling jealous because I called him a good boy. Are you really okay with me spanking him?”
“I think so. I think part of the problem yesterday is we weren’t in a scene. There was no ‘we’ involved. But with this, it’s all three of us, not just you and him with me on the outside wondering what the hell is going on.”
“Damn straight you won’t be on the outside. You’re going to be right there with me, so you can let me know if I miss something or if I take things too far.”
