Mi Hi slumped, barely noticing the feline. “That’s what I’ve been trying to set up between my inboxes exploding and fielding requests for comments. Problem is, I’ve never built a website from scratch. I always had contractors who built to spec. And I need a server that can handle the traffic. We have so much traffic. It’s not like I can just make some small site and not have it crash.”
Collin carried Artemis toward the refrigerator. “Let me feed the tiny panther.”
Jun ran his hands through his hair. “I’ll wake the guys up. We’ll help. You shouldn’t be doing this on your own.”
Mi Hi scowled. “You need to be practicing. And making content.”
Jun shrugged. “Take videos of us making the website.”
“Oh.” Mi Hi’s idea face took over. “Can you do it in your pajamas?”
“Collin, Jun, go wake the boys. I’ll make breakfast,” Richard said.
Jun jumped. He hadn’t even realized Richard had come into the kitchen. Somehow, he’d crossed the kitchen without Jun noticing. It helped that he was barefoot. There was something somehow even more intimidating about Richard in casual clothes preparing to cook in the massive kitchen than when the older dom was in a suit.
Blushing, Jun took off up the stairs toward the other band members’ bedrooms.
Collin jogged with him, favoring one leg.
Jun paused on the landing. “You all right?”
A puzzled frown creased Collin’s forehead. “Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You’re, like, limping a little.”
“Oh, that.” Collin’s eyes dropped. “I, uh, Richard and I were saying goodbye.”
“Oh. Oh!” Jun blushed back. “So, you’re, um, sore, but like…actually…all right?”
“Yeah.” Collin rubbed the back of his neck. “I’m good, I promise. Richard checks.”
“Is it always like that?”
Collin’s cheeks turned an even deeper pink. “Not always, just…sometimes? Like when we’re really into it.”
Jun bit his lip. “So you think I’ll still be able to dance when Damian and I, I mean, when we get that far?”
Collin’s eyes sparkled at the veiled confession. “You can plan for it, the more active play. Sometimes you can be, um, really active. And sometimes you’re more careful, less…vigorous? I don’t have anything planned today, so…”
That seemed to be the limit of Collin’s embarrassment. His voice trailed off.
Jun tugged on his hair, embarrassed for the other man. “Sorry.”
“No, it’s a good question. You have to think about your body, you know, since you…well…” Collin wrinkled up his nose. “Ash has to have a server or six somewhere. I’ll call him as soon as he’s awake.”
Jun blinked, not quite ready for the sudden change of topic. “Ash, the guy at the new year’s party, the one you study Mandarin with?”
“He’s our resident computer guy. I think he could help. I’ll call after breakfast. Come on, I’ll take Yohei and Jaewoong.”
Richard headed back to the city after breakfast. Gigi caught a ride with him toward the airport. She was due in L.A. for a gig, but had promised to stay in contact and took one last photo with them before heading out. Mi Hi jumped into Gigi’s arms and squeezed hard with all four limbs. Whatever Gigi said into Mi Hi’s ear, Jun couldn’t hear and he didn’t try, but it made Mi Hi blush.
With Collin and Ash’s help, 5N had their own website up a little after noon. Mi Hi fell asleep on the couch of the great room where they’d all eventually migrated. Geun covered her up with a blanket, and they all tiptoed out, leaving a fresh bottle of water on the coffee table beside her. Collin made his call to Ash and got assurances of help as soon as Ash finished up some work. Jun took some time to himself to build more content for the fresh website. He had a lot to learn, and Mi Hi shouldn’t have to do all it herself.
Damian
Damian worked through lunch at his desk. His personal assistant brought him coffee twice and a grilled sandwich from the bar and grill a block away. His phone beeped at him, reminding him to stand up and drink water. He blinked at his screen and thumbed it off, standing with a groan. He was getting too old for this. Sitting in one position for more than four hours was bad for anyone.
He stretched and grabbed his water bottle. Mid-gulp, his phone rang. He swallowed and answered, seeing Pearsen’s name on the screen.
