“I can’t complain,” Juke replied, shaking his hand.
“You ready for tomorrow?” Daddy asked.
Rashad grinned. “I stay ready so it ain’t no need to get ready,” he responded cockily.
We talked to my parents for a few more minutes before they told us everyone else was outside. When we made it to the back, we found Buck and Stacks by the grill arguing as usual.
“Man, the fuck is you doing?” Stacks frowned.
“Looks like you needed some help. Them ribs look a lil’ dry.”
“Bro, get the fuck on ’fore I press yo’ face on this damn grill.”
“And I’ll tell Mommy, bitch.” Buck stuck his finger up before he noticed us. “Look who finally decided to show the fuck up,” Buck called when he saw us.
“Shut up, Lincoln,” I chastised. “I’m here now.” I waved him off and sat by Nic.
“Aye, what you doing to my cousin? She getting a mouth on her?” Buck called himself grilling Rashad.
“Whatever I’m doing to her is my business, and she ain’t complaining.” He smirked.
“Oop,” Mel instigated.
“Ain’t nobody talking to you, Thugga. Mind that bald-headed ass nigga over there.” He pointed at Kilo, who was coming backoutside with Teddy. We didn’t see him inside, so he must’ve been somewhere with him.
“Watch ya mouth, Lincoln,” he warned. Kilo gave Teddy to his mama, and he joined his brothers by the grill.
“You gone be good?” Rashad leaned down and asked before dropping a kiss on my lips.
“Aye, nigga!” Buck yelled. “Get yo’ nasty ass lips off my cousin. The fuck wrong with you?” He frowned.
Rashad kissed me again before walking over where the other guys were.
“Somebody glowing and shit,” Mel mentioned.
“Mhm…I know that look, too. That’s how I got pregnant again,” Nic added.
“Don’t blame that on nobody but yo’ hot ass and that insane husband of yours,” Kasha blurted.
“Bro… Benny get the fu?” Keenan started before Buck cut him off.
“Make me disconnect yo’ shit. The fuck you cursing for?” Buck scolded.
“I beat him, Daddy!” Benny yelled.
Buck tried to contain his laughter, but he couldn’t.
“Man, chill,” he laughed. “Leave the big boys alone. Go get Teddy and y’all do some shit.” That was all he had to say before he took off running. “And if you curse again, I’m gone fuck you up.” He pointed his finger at Keenan.
“You ain’t gone do shit,” Keenan shot back before taking off running inside.
Times like this made me forget about Rio and his bullshit. This felt… normal. I felt normal. I overheard the guys talking to Rashad about his fight tomorrow, and you could tell he was passionate about what he did. He must’ve felt me looking at him because his eyes caught mine and he held my gaze for a bit.
“Aye, cuz. I love you and all, but you might need to stay home tomorrow if this nigga gone be watching you like this. I got fifty bands on this nigga, and I’m gone get my money whether he wins or not,” Stacks spoke.
“Really, Jackson?” Kasha fake fussed.
“Chill, baby. I got you.” He winked and blew her a kiss, causing her to blush.
