“I can’t believe this kid did this to you. What is wrong with people?”
“I swear he’s the most cruel, disgusting piece of trash I’ve ever met,” I replied.
“Ugh, he’s revolting. Who leaks a girl’s pictures like that? This is messed up.”
“He’s a degenerate hog,” I assured her.
“Seriously. What did Newman say, by the way?”
“That selfish jerk is only worried about himself and the school.”
“Why don’t we try and expose him?” Vivian suggested.
“Remember Aidan?” I asked to jog her memory.
“Oh, wow, you’re right. Wait, why don’t we just use anonymous accounts?”
“Aidan used anonymous accounts. It didn’t work out.”
“Damn. What do we do then?”
“Once I’m done crying about all the mean things people are posting about me, I’m going to destroy him.”
“Screw those people. They’re just stupid bullies with nothing better to do. They wouldn’t be saying all that stuff to your face,” Vivian assured me.
“Trust me, I know. If they did, they would no longer have a face after I was through with them,” I clearly stated.
“Hey, do you wanna open the door?” Vivian asked.
“Not really, Viv. I don’t want you to see me like this.”
“Are you sure?”
“I love you, Viv, but yes.”
“Okay. I love you too. I’m sorry you’re going through this. You don’t deserve it.”
I stayed quiet and wiped away my tears. Vivian was my best friend and my rock. Despite her being a peaceful hippy, I knew she’d always be there for me, just like I knew I’d always be there for her. I was lucky I had at least one person like that in my life.
I changed my mind and opened the door. As I walked out, Vivian and I tightly hugged one another.
“Thank you for being here,” I said with gratitude.
“Anytime.”
“You wanna know the nicest thing someone called me today?” I asked.
“What?”
“An ugly cow,” I said somewhat jokingly.
“You are definitely not an ugly cow, Heather.”
“Am I a pretty cow?”
“Don’t say that.”
“If I make light of it, it won’t bother me as much,” I explained.
