Maybe?
It'd been so long since I've felt anything with anyone that way. If I was being honest with myself, I've never felt that way about Tyler. He was safe. He was kind. And he loved me. His love and safety were a balm to my soul, but there was never passion, never that need in my gut that drove me to see how he was doing. No drive to go see him, like there was with an alien I hardly knew.
He said he'd be at the lounge, waiting for me.
I smiled at the thought.
No one had everwaited for me. Tyler would be there for me when I asked, but he never did anything without being asked. Unless I asked him to wait for me, he wouldn't.
Sou-el was waiting for me, I thought with giddiness. Squeezing my daughter's hand, I stood up, and told her, "I have somewhere I need to be."
"Go get him," she encouraged while swatting at me to get out of there.
"I'm going, I'm going," I said with a lightness I hadn't felt in a long time for someone other than my daughters.
With access to see my daughter, I was also granted the ability to go to the lounge the ship staff used as well, and I was thankful, I wouldn't have to detour to get an escort.
I could see crew members coming and going from the double doors that led to the chatter and sounds of various aliens relieving their stress with socializing, and other activities. Moans could be heard from inside, and I paused, considering if I should keep going.
The social concept of being so free with things such as pleasure regardless of audience was new to me, considering on Earth we would get arrested for indecent exposure. I didn't think we even had any nude beaches anymore, though I did see such things mentioned in movies as being allowed before.
With a deep, strengthening breath, I took another step. This was okay, I repeated to myself, this was natural for the necia warriors, no needto be embarrassed.
"Human?" a warrior grunted as they passed me.
Another bumped into them and said, "There were a bunch of them added to the research teams, most of them stick to the labs."
"Skittish creatures," he grumbled as he assessed me.
Awkwardly smiling, I tried to pass, but the other warrior female growled, "Its baring its teeth at us. Like their blunt, brittle fangs would do any damage to us." She scoffed, and dragged the warrior around me, disappearing down the hall.
"Ignore them," a deep voice commanded. I turned back to see General Tensel smiling at me from the doorway. His red hair was braided back on the sides, loose behind his shoulder epul. "Many warriors still hold onto the honor that humans are much too fragile to be considered more than pets we care for. It is our duty to protect those weaker than us, and they find it dishonorable to take advantage of your species by pretending you are not vulnerable without our help."
"And your thoughts?"
"There is more to your species than your packaging. I was trained as a warrior, but my curiosity was never sated with simply testing my body limits. Come, sit with me for a moment," he insisted with a charming offer of his hand.
"Uh, I was--"
"Looking for someone else," he finished for me, and wasn't deterred, "I will wait with you, should he come. I have a story to share, if you'll listen."
I sighed, and nodded politely, taking his hand. It was something I was used to, listening to people, what was one more added to the list?
When we walked through the doors, I immediately scanned the room for Sou-el, but I didn't see him. My eyes took in a lot more than I ever thought I'd see. There were tables of crewmembers drinking and talking, but there were also warriors propped up on the bar with their legs spread and another warrior between their legs as they panted, grabbing their hair as they grinded against their face. Other warriors watched them with their hands in their pants, touching themselves. Turned on, other warriors grabbed those warriors to put their hands to better use on a partner, as they licked each other's skin. Moans filled the room, as I was led to an empty table to sit at.
I squirmed in my seat, oddly tingling from the atmosphere of lust surrounding us.
"If you're uncomfortable, we can talk somewhere else?" he offered.
I leaned over the small table bolted to the floor to ask, "How do you ignore it?"
He laughed gently. "Why would I do that? It pleases me that my tribe is keeping up their health and attending their needs so they may focus on their tasks more efficiently. If I were not sated, then I'd join them."
"Oh."
"Do you not feel the pull in your body to join?" he asked, and I felt my thighs clench as I averted my eyes from what was creating the moans echoing beside us. He sniffed the air and smiled. "I'll take that as a yes." Seeing my wide eyes as my shoulders tensed up he added, "No need to worry, no one will force themselves on you. You are free to do as you please."
"You said you had a story," I diverted the conversation, while I glanced over to the entrance to see if Sou-el had come in. He didn't.
