"You are mine," I said, reeling forward and clinging to him as my wings fluttered behind me. My hips grinding on his fingers as I repeated the words in my mind over and over again.

"I hear you," he whispered, and I could swear I felt his words in my very bones. When I opened my eyes, we weren't even touching the ground. Both of our wings buzzed, keeping us afloat, making the bushes sway with our wing's movement. "My queen," he kissed my temple, then my cheek, and searched out for my lips before hungrily devouring my moans.

His fingers slipped from my folds, and with a smile on his face he lifted them to his mouth to lick my juices.

"You taste fucking amazing, My Kansa," he said before lowering us into the hidden pool of water. Our wings folded back disappearing, but I could feel them soaking up the cool relief, my nerves still firing off from his touch.

As my mind unspun itself from the throbbing between my legs, I clung to him, wrapping my legs around his torso as we waded within the buoyant pool, cleaning off our sweat from the humidity of Estreldez, and the delicious things he just did with only a few fingers.

I bit my lip before asking him, "You aren't angry?"

"Angry? For saving me the trouble of reprimanding my warriors for causing trouble?"

"For spying, and uncovering a krelin weakness?" I clarified. His eyes softened, and he pulled me against his chest.

"You think my own warriors wouldn't tell me what they had revealed once I interrogated them? The Chief of Trade Operations told me about the woman that bartered for nectar and told me of her questions as soon as I confronted him. I wish you hadn't been so good about hiding who you were. It would have saved me the trouble of seeking out the wrong mate."

"I don't understand..." I whispered, muffled into his firm pectorals, tracing the sensitive skin around his nipples with my lips. An indent of a wing was marked just above, and I smiled at it, wondering if it was an emblem from inside his armor.

He moaned, and then chuckled. "I thought Luan was you in more ways than one. First, I thought she was the one that uncovered a krelin weakness. It wasn't like the chief stated it outright, but you were clever in your deductions, weren't you." It wasn't a question, he sounded proud, and I grinned with embarrassment. This was not how I expected him to react to this information. I had betrayed him, and the chief, by telling Luan about the reason Krelis needed our Glorbin Flower deposits. They only requested small amounts, but it was the only thing they wanted from the trades.

"Why hide that you don't use any of the supplies we trade for except for the Glorbin Flower? Luan was convinced that you requested more and more of our resources for the food we need because Krelis wants to weaken the planet for takeover. Take enough resources, no matter what they are, to increase the demand for hard labor, and give less and less food in return until Estreldez is dependent on only what Krelis can provide."

"Is that what you think?"

I shook my head. "I think you're hording the Glorbin Flower so that no other trader can access it, and perhaps the outlaws may believe there isn't enough of the resource on our planet to risk trying to attack us for it."

"You didn't tell this to Luan, did you," he remarked with a lilt that suggested he was amused.

"No, I only told her that krelins don't have any need for the jewels they trade for. You don't eat them, and there's been no reports of increased exports of jewels outside of Krelis for any trade agreements with other planets. Other trade agreements we have in place haven't reduced their demands on the jewels we offer, so Krelis hasn't offloaded what we've given. If you truly wanted to fuck with Estreldez, all you'd have to do was flood the market with the trade you've already accumulated."

"Luan still believes we intend to use our stockpiles to threaten Estreldez," he reasoned, and nuzzled into my wet hair.

"Are you the spy now, Prince of Krelis?" I teased, though it wouldn't be unreasonable to think he could have both. Feelings for me, and a desire to seek out information that would benefit his hive.

"I've bedded the enemy, have I? That is what a spy is, is it not? No, My Kansa, we are not enemies, we are leaders seeking out truth to save lives. She isn't wrong, my mother fully intends to use those stockpiles to ruin your trade if her plans to secure the planet do not succeed."

"Why is Glorbin Flower so important?" I didn't know everything about what was going on, but I needed to if I was going to try to help.

He smiled. "There is a scientist from Trillume—"

I interrupted him, "On the other side of the galaxy?"

His mouth flattened. What he was about to say was serious, and he lifted me on the edge of the watering hole. "The scientist found uses for Glorbin Flower, one of which is how to break it down into its components. Its high concentration of a substance they call Ordin is a highly efficient fuel source for ships to travel greater distances without needing to recharge or stop at waystations. With Ordin, the Trillume warships are capable of crossing from one end of the galaxy to the other without delay. And they will. The Ordin will allow them to have oversight on more than this galaxy. More planets will submit to their control, and Krelis and Estreldez will be next."

I shivered. From talking with Loric on occasion, I knew what Trillume was capable of. They policed the galaxy and we appreciated that they would not allow planets to go unchecked if they crossed any galactic laws, but even he was skeptical about how the laws came to be. They were set by Trillume themselves and the stories of how they gained the armies at their disposal were horrifying.

To some the story of how the trill went to Necias Prime, challenged their tribal leader, and won the 'respect' of the planet to become their new overlord, was an act of true benevolence. They didn't war to gain control of the warriors that serve as their sword and enforcement of laws across the galaxy.

But I'd always wondered, what would have happened if the trill lost? And how exactly did they win? The details were never revealed in the stories. What if the trill were just as vicious as the outlaw planet Necias Delta Fal? They simply saw an easier way to get what they wanted and it worked... but if it didn't… would they have taken the planet by force? I had my suspicions, and I was glad we were too far away from the planet Trillume for them to have any particular interest in reaching this sector. But now... that wasn't the case.

And I was frightened. Trent could see the horror on my face, and he rubbed my thighs with his hands as he waded between my legs. His cheek rested on my leg, and he squeezed my thigh in a hug with his face.

"The trill can't find out how much Glorbin Flower is actually available on Estreldez. I'm aware that the only reason why you can't trade more is that it's considered a food source for estrelds... and the stone is dangerous to mine. You have to stop Estreldez from exporting anymore Glorbin Flower, it has to cease to exist outside of this planet."

I agreed with him, but what was I supposed to do about it. I could talk with the Almder, but it wasn't my decision.

He saw the uncertainty in my eyes. "Mabel, do you not understand who you are now? You are the future Queen of Krelis. You aren't simply an advisor to the Almder of Estreldez, you are a leader speaking with another leader."
