“You know what you have to do,” he said.

“I do. And I know without any doubt, Grimm had nothing to do with this.”

“I hope not,” Demon said. “Because I don’t give a fuck who he is. Nobody fucks with my blood.”

“Trust me, D, whoever is involved will die by my hands, blood or not.”

What the fuck is going on?

LET'S CUT THE BULLSH*T

Rebel Pierce

Charlotte FBI Field Office

I huffed in annoyance as Agent Revels and Monroe handed me off to a younger agent, who then hurriedly guided me into an interrogation room at the Charlotte’s FBI Field Office. Although my godfather ran the place, this was my first time stepping foot into one of the interrogation rooms.

The small room had the same sterile atmosphere as a police station, with its bare walls and lack of personal touches. The room was furnished with the usual uncomfortable metal chairs and a table, while the scent of cigarette smoke, cleaning chemicals, and stale coffee permeated the air. Despite not being claustrophobic, the nauseous smell and cramped size of the room made me uncertain of how long I could tolerate being inside before feeling overwhelmed and panicked.

“Someone will be here to speak with you in a moment,” the agent said. “Have a seat.”

After he shut the door behind him, I blew out a breath. “Shit must be bad,” I muttered as I took my seat at the table in the center of the small room. “I guess it’s a good sign I’m not in handcuffs.”

As I sat at the cool metal table, my fingers nervously tapped out a rhythm. As I waited for someone to come in and explain the situation, the sound reverberated off the stark white concrete walls. Although I knew it had to do with J.D., I didn’t actually know what they needed to speak to me about. I’d already told them it was none of their damn business who I had in my apartment. And even though it was J.D., it wasn’t against the law to have him as a friend or even date him.

Unless they saw Detective Abrams enter my building but never leave. Fuck, I hope that’s not it.

I jumped when the door opened, then rolled my eyes when Agent Revels stepped into the room alone and shut the door behind him. I was so fucking tired of dealing with him.

“Where’s Agent Monroe?” I asked, leaning back in my chair glaring at him.

I really didn’t care where she was. I just didn’t like Agent Revels and preferred not to be in the same room with him alone.

Agent Revels tossed a manila file folder on the table then took the seat in front of me. “She had something else she needed to take care of. So, you’re stuck with me, Ms. Pierce.”

“Great,” I said with as much sarcasm as I could muster.

Frustration flickered in his eyes as he rubbed his hand over his face.

Despite his asshole demeanor, Agent Revels was a very nice-looking man with chiseled features. If my mother had met him, she would have instantly seen him as the perfect match for me. The tall, dark, and handsome type. With a muscular frame, tawny skin, dark hair, and eyes, the navy suit tailored to his body only increased his attractiveness. But there was just something Idid not like about him, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. And it wasn’t because he was an asshole. I dealt with those types of people daily. There was something else, and it really annoyed the hell out of me that I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I delved into his financials, background, and work history, but nothing remarkable caught my attention except for his determination to take down Demons United. I had noticed that he had been relentlessly pursuing Demons United for a considerable amount of time, but nothing ever stuck. Which made me think, I might need to go a little deeper with Agent Revels. He was hiding something, and it had something to do with Demons United.

I learned J.D. and his motorcycle club weren’t just your run-of-the-mill biker gang. They were a highly organized criminal organization, not that much different from the mafia. And it would be hard for any law enforcement agency to get them on anything unless someone infiltrated them.

“You seem to spend a lot of time with J.D. Stevens, Ms. Pierce.”

He opened his folder, revealing a photograph that he pulled out. I glanced at the picture then looked back at him. It was of me entering J.D.’s home. A day I remembered very well because J.D. gave me the best orgasm of my life.

I kept my gaze fixed on Agent Revels as he slid the photograph towards me. I remained calm and kept my attention focused on him. He looked up from the folder and arched his brow, but I remained silent and waited for him to make his move.

“What is your relationship with J.D. Stevens, Ms. Pierce?”

“That’s none of your business Agent. Like I’ve already told you, who I spend my time with is not your concern.”

“It is if it involves a man like Stevens.”

I didn’t respond to that because no matter how much he asked he wasn’t getting any information about my relationship. It was none of his business.
