"Is he alive?" I ask while helping Dani out of the house, sirens blaring in the distance.
"Yeah, Uncle put a bullet in his leg." Razor laughs as he comes up behind us. "Said he left him breathing for you. Hurry your asses up so we can go have some fun with him."

We barely madeit out of the house before the cops showed up. I heard Abasi tell his men to burn the house to the ground. That crazy motherfucker had them blow that shit up. He said something about it looking like a gas explosion with a huge fucking fireball. Crazy motherfucker.
Back at the clubhouse, I have a range of emotions flowing through me—from relief to rage. I’m relieved I got my sister back alive, although she has been beaten badly and the cut on her neck is something stitches can’t fix. She is alive, and I couldn't be more grateful. I'm not quite sure exactly what he did to her because she hasn't spoken one word since we found her in the basement. But you can best believe that motherfucker will suffer before I put an end to his life for what he did to Dani and Kira.
My brothers, along with Sefu's men, got out with only minor injuries. Some with bullet wounds, scrapes, and bruises but nothing life-threatening. J.D. contacted the doctor he has on payroll and one of his chapter member’s old lady, who is an R.N., to meet us at the clubhouse—first to check on Dani to make sure she doesn’t have anything internally going on, and then to take care of those who got hurt in the gunfight, hoping to keep anyone from going to the hospital. The last thing we need is the cops breathing down our necks. We all made it out alive, but the fight isn't over. Not by a longshot.
"Hey man, you ready to handle this prick?" Walking up to me, Razor has this huge smile etched across his face and rubbing his hands together.
Crazy ass.
"I’ll be there in a few minutes. I'm going to go check on Kira before we start.”
His smile never falters. "That bitch was whining like a little pussy when we put him in the basement. I can't wait to get up close and personal with that little shit."
"Where's Abasi?"
Shaking his head, he laughs. "Dude, I thought I was crazy, but that motherfucker right there is on a different level. That crazy ass is with J.D. going over something dealing with the Russians. He said he will fill us in after you spend time with Kira."
"You heard from Larry and the other guys?" I ask, leaning against the wall.
"Yeah, Loco said Larry called. They got the job done, and the cops are trying to talk to you about the fires, but he told them you were out of town with your girlfriend."
"Okay. After we finish all this, we’ll take care of all the shit dealing with the fires. Let me check on Kira first."
I walk up to the bedroom. Tiny conveys to me she's been locked in the room, crying since we left, and won’t let him in the room. I take a deep breath before lightly knocking while Tiny takes off in the opposite direction.
"Babe, can you..." is all I can verbalize before the door swings open and she jumps into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist as tears stream down her chocolate skin.
"Oh my God, Austin! Baby, are you hurt? Did you find Dani?" She cups my face, seemly examining me for any signs of injury. "Is everyone all right?"
"Calm down, baby. Take a breath for me." I put her down and escort her over to the bed to sit. "I'm all right, but Dani has some injuries, and she's not talking, so I don't know exactly what is going on with her."
"She's not talking?"
I wrap my arms around her as she cuddles closer to me. "She hasn't said a word since we found her. The doctor is checking her as we speak, but I don't want you to go and see her yet, okay?"
"But Austin, she needs me!"
"Kira, we have to let the doctor take care of her. We aren't sure what she went through. He almost slit her throat, and she was beaten." I try to make her understand the best thing for Dani at this moment is for the doctor to examine her and for her to rest.
Finally agreeing, she relaxes and lays her head on my shoulder. I kiss her on the forehead.
"I just want her to be okay, and I love her regardless of our fight. And I'm going to be here for her."
"Kira, Dani knows you love her." I hug her tighter and run my hand through her hair.
During our moment of silence, I sit, enjoying being with her but preparing myself for her questions about what happened.
"Did you find Avery?" She looks at me with worry in her eyes.
