"Austin, the only place I think she would go would be back to her condo."
Razor closes his eyes. "Shit, I hope she's not that stupid."
"Bear and Johnny, head to Dani's condo in Durham and scope it out see if she turns up. I don't care what you have to do, drag her ass back here!"
The men nod and head out the door.
"Larry, call me as soon as everything is done and head back here. We need to make sure you’re in and out without anyone noticing."
He nods and heads out after Bear and Johnny.
What the fuck was she thinking? I can understand being pissed, even her throwing this little fucking tantrum, but to put her life in more danger than it is already? Sure, this Avery dick wasn't one to worry about, but his father was something else entirely.
"Demon, we’re handling three issues now, so even with both chapters, we don't have enough men to deal with the dad." Razor sighs in frustration when Kira's phone rings.
"Put it on speaker," I say.
She takes a deep breath and answers it. "Hello?"
"Didn't I tell you it was time for you to come home, Akira?" Avery's voice echoes in an eerie calm. "But you don't listen, so I think maybe it should come from someone else."
"What are you talking about, Avery? Can't you leave me in peace?" Her voice begins to crack.
"No, bitch! Didn't I say that I fucking own you?” Avery yells. "You had me assaulted, and you think I would let that shit go? You think you can run away from me and I would let that shit go!? You are mine, you stupid bitch! I'm the one that loves you, and you do this shit to me?!"
"Avery, you tried to kill me! I put up with your abuse. You never loved me!"
"Who do you think you’re talking to, you filthy bitch? I'm the one that made you! You would be nothing without me!"
"Kira! Kira! Don't come please!" We all hear Dani scream in the background.
"Shut up! You stupid cunt!" The sound of a loud thump is heard. "If you want to see your friend alive again, you better be on the road."
"If you hurt my sister, I'm going to cut your balls off and feed them to you until you choke. You don't know who the fuck you’re messing with."
"I was wondering if you would make your appearance. So, Danielle is your sister huh?" Avery laughs. "Neither one of you can seem to mind your own fucking business. Well, guess what, cocksucker, I'm going to fuck the shit out of your sister before I slit her damn throat."
"Avery, don't you dare touch her! I'm coming! I'm leaving now!" Kira yells.
"Good girl. Be here by tomorrow or Danielle will be unrecognizable." He laughs then ends the call.
"Oh my God, he's going to kill her, Austin,” Kira says. "This is my fault. She's going to die."
"She is not going to die, Kira. I’ll die before I let anything happen to my sister or you."
Razor places a hand on my shoulder. “D, man, we need to call in reinforcements. We have too much going on."
"Call him, he has Dani," Kira says.
"J.D., we need to use your office and a secure line," I say, wrapping my arms around Kira’s waist.
"This way." We all walk towards his office, anxious.
"Kira, call him." I put the phone on speaker, and we wait for the voice on the other line.
