As Natalia takes a sip of her red wine, she refuses to look at me when I take my seat. "So, what do I owe this pleasure, D?"
I lean back in my chair, gazing at the woman I had once loved. Natalia Koshenko is gorgeous by anyone’s standards—tall, lean, with emerald green eyes, and long, straight dark hair that reaches midback contrasting nicely against her pale skin.
I met Natalia when I was dealing with her father, Andrei Koshenko, head of the Koshenko Bratva. We used to deal directly with Andrei...until he decided to hand over the weapons deals of his organization to his youngest child and only daughter, Natalia.
Although a young woman, Natalia is considered one of her father’s fiercest and most ruthless soldiers, earning her place at the top of his organization not by using the Koshenko name, but putting in the work, which was one of the reasons I fell hard for her. That was until I found out that after almost two years with this woman, I wasn’t the only one she was screwing, and she was using our relationship to keep tabs on me and the club for her father. So, I ended it as well as my dealings with the Koshenkos, never turning back, until now.
"A friend and my sister are in some trouble. We’re going to need some major equipment."
She traces her manicured finger covered in her signature deep crimson-colored polish around the rim of the wine glass. "So, what do you want me to do about it?"
Sitting up in my chair, I glare at her. She’s gonna try and milk this shit."Cut the bullshit, Natalia. Do you think I would be here if I could have avoided it?"
She takes another sip of wine and leans back in her chair. "So, who is this friend, D? She must be important."
I cross my arms over my chest, angry that this bitch thinks she has the right to ask anything about my life. I try not to show my aggravation, but the longer this meeting goes, the more questions she no doubt will ask, and I'm not going to do a good job hiding it.
"Who is or who is not in my life is none of your business. Do you have access or not?"
She glances up from her wine glass and smirks. "Yes, of course I do, D. You know who the fuck I am. But what I can give you comes with a price."
I lean back in my chair and can't even imagine how much this is going to cost me. No doubt it will be more than my life is worth. "How much?"
She stares into my eyes and traces her finger around the rim of her glass again, looking at me stoically. "One night with you and you can have whatever you want."
Of course. More than what my fucking life is worth.
I scoff and point at her. "Natalia, that bullshit isn't going to happen. That right there is not even a fucking option."
Does this bitch think I'm gonna fuck her?
Natalia glares at me and places the wine glass on the table. Her stoic façade falters. "This bitch must be special."
"Shut your fucking mouth, Natalia!" My nostrils flare and my skin begins to heat up. "It has nothing to do with anybody else. I have no interest in getting back in your bed, especially not after you were screwing half the fucking town! So, sleeping with you is not an option. What are my other choices?"
"My bed or ten million. You choose, D."
I stand up, sliding the chair back from the table, and turn to leave. "Give me a couple days. I’ll be in touch."
"I can't wait. It was nice seeing you again, D. I hope we can make up for lost time." She smugly gives me a wink.
"Don't hold your fucking breath."
Razor meets me as soon as I walk into the house. We head into the meeting room.
"Hey man, what did she say?" he asks.
"Sex or ten million. Fucking cunt." I flop down on the couch.
Razor sits and leans back in his chair, his hands behind his head, and smirks. "Demon, just fuck her. Because there is no way in hell we can come up with ten million dollars as quick as we need to."
I sit back on the soft leather couch and let out a deep sigh. "I can't do it, man."
He smiles at me. I glare back. "Does this have to do with Kira? You got the hots for her, don’t you? It’s ten million dollars, Demon, that we don't have right now. Give the bitch what she wants and let's do what we got to do."
Dani comes in, interrupting our conversation, clapping and whistling to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, Kira finished cooking. The food is outside on the patio, so bring your asses outside before that shit gets cold."
"Let me sleep on it,” I say as we stand. “Let's go eat. I'm starving."
