"All right, fellas! My family has a little problem with a racist prick, and we’re going to deal with it. This problem comes with deep pockets and powerful connections."
I glance at everyone who has come together to help protect my family, conveying to them the seriousness of the situation.
"We’re going to send this guy a message. I've been in touch with our brothers in North Carolina, and they have agreed to join in on our little problem. Our problem's name is Avery Hansen, the son of David Hansen."
"Wait...wait,thefucking David Hansen, CEO of Hansen Technologies?" Razor asks with his mouth gaped wide.
"That would be him," I reply with a shrug of the shoulders. At this point, I don't give a fuck who his father is.
Razor runs his hands through his hair in frustration and groans. "Shit! Demon, this is going to be a major operation if we’re going against the founder of Hansen Technologies. From what I have heard of the guy, he’s as crooked as they come. He’s got mob ties. This goes far beyond the police, man. We’re going to have to go beyond our brothers to get more help from some heavyweights, and I don't think you’re going to like it."
"Is there any way of getting around that?" I ask, hoping Razor's answer is yes as I pace back and forth. I know exactly who the fuck he’s talking about, and I do not want to make this damn call.
He leans forward, clasps his hands together, and shakes his head. "Nah man, there's no way around it. Make the call."
"Fuck my life!" I take out the phone and dial a number I had no intention of ever dialing again, but I suck up my pride for the sake of Kira and Dani. Son of a bitch!
"Meet me atGiovanni'sin an hour," I say and hang up, not waiting on a response because I have no doubt they will be there.
I wipe my hands across my face thinking about this upcoming meeting. My anger and frustration with this whole damn situation are starting to annoy the hell out of me.
I pull one of my brothers to the side and place the envelope in his hand that contains the instructions for J.D.
"Ghost, I need you to take this envelope to the brothers in Charlotte. Do not, and I repeat, do not get stopped by the law. Leave your cut. We don't need eyes on you. This is to be put in nobody else's hands but J.D.’s. He will be waiting for you."
“You got it, Demon,” he says and leaves.
I turn my attention back to Razor, dreading the upcoming meeting. "Razor, make sure you guys work on a plan until I come back from seeing this bitch."

Dani walks into the kitchen, pulls up a stool, and sits down while I'm cooking. "Kira, why in the hell are you cooking all this damn food?"
"You want to eat, don't you?" I laugh and point a serving spoon at her.
"You know what I mean."
I shake my head, remembering why the hell I'm running for my life and putting everyone in danger. "Danielle, in all seriousness, these guys are putting themselves in harm's way because of my stupidity, including your brother. I can't sit back and not thank them for what they’re doing. Cooking is the least I can do."
I turn my attention back to the stove.
"Kira, trust me, this is not because of your stupidity but because of that asshole. And speaking of asshole, what’s going on with you and my brother?"
I glance over my shoulder and laugh. "I’ll tell you if you strain these noodles for me."
"Damn it, Kira. I'm not playing. What's going on?"
"Okay...Okay, shit! You don’t have to whine. Listen, I don't understand what's going on. When I'm around him, I'm different. I feel different. I forget all about my problems, and it feels like we’re the only two people in the world." I smile, thinking of the private moment Austin and I shared earlier.
"But Kira, you don't understand the life my brother lives. The MC life can be dangerous, and I don't want you in the middle of all this shit. You have been through enough."
"Listen, Dani, I appreciate your concern, but whatever is going on between your brother and me, we need to handle it between us. I don't have blinders on when it comes to him, and he told me himself last night that he isn't a decent man."
She gives me a confused expression. "Wait...when last night?"
I try to steer the conversation away from the night I shared with Austin. "You are concerned and I understand that, but I'm not getting ahead of myself when it concerns your brother. First, I want to finish this thing with Avery, and then I’ll move forward in my life. I don’t know if it will include your brother or not, but it isourdecision." I hug her and try to cut the conversation short. "Now, let's cook. We’re going to have a lot of hungry men to feed."
