"Akira, make sure to keep your stress levels low because your blood pressure was a little on the high side for my liking. I’ll see you in four weeks."

"She will. I’ll make sure of it."

We exit the room to schedule my next appointment then leave the doctor's office and head towards the parking lot.

"Are you happy?" I ask Austin.

"Very happy." He leans over to kiss me. Suddenly, we hear tires screeching.

Three black SUVs pull up. Austin pushes me behind his back and places his hand on the gun he has in his waistband. Agents Harris and Douglas step out with guns drawn, and Austin removes his hand.

"Austin Tyler," Agent Harris calls out as they both quickly walk up to us.

Agent Douglas grips him by the arm.

"You are under arrest for the murder of Cody ‘Spike’ Daniels,” Agent Harris continues. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

Agent Douglas looks at me and smirks.

"No, let him go!" I scream.

Laughing, Douglas pulls Austin's hands behind his back. "I’ll never understand how a fine piece of ass like you would settle for someone like this piece of shit."

Austin struggles with Agent Douglas. "Fuck you, motherfucker!"

Douglas searches him and pulls the gun from Austin’s waistband. He forcefully takes Austin to the ground, placing handcuffs on him. Austin gives me a small smile, although I see him wince. Even though he has been feeling pain from his injuries he refuses to wear the sling since the day we left the hospital. "Calm down, baby. Call Tiny to come and pick you up. I don't want you driving."

"Austin..."

He gives me a wink, and they pull him off the ground dragging him away. "I'm fine, sweetheart. Call Tiny. I’ll see you in a few hours."

I watch as they place Austin in the SUV, and he looks at me and mouths the words, “I love you.” I do the same.

He gives me one of his heart-stopping smiles, and I place my hand on my stomach.

"Breathe, Kira, breathe. Keep calm. We knew this was going to happen." I stay and watch the SUVs pull off with my husband handcuffed in the back. "He's fine. Roger will handle it," I mumble to myself.

Pulling out my phone, I dial Tiny, and he answers on the first ring.

"Kira?"

I try to calm my nerves, remembering what the doctor said about stress. "Tiny, Austin wants you to come to pick me up from the doctor's office on 5th and Sycamore."

"I'm less than a block away. Stay right there."

"Thank you. I'll be by his truck in the parking lot."

I end the call, but as I wait for Tiny an uneasiness comes over me. I get the feeling that someone is watching me.

Looking around, I see no one, but the uneasiness doesn't go away. Suddenly, I feel something being placed over my nose and mouth. I begin to struggle, clawing at the person's hands, trying to pull them away from my face as my fight or flight instincts kick in.

I hear yelling and scuffling behind me. I feel my body become very heavy. I’m unable to speak. I’m unable to move. Feeling helpless, my body gives up the fight and the darkness takes over.

Demon

"Give me my fucking phone call!" I yell as Agent Douglas pushes me into a holding cell.

"You don't run shit in here, Tyler." Agent Douglas smirks. "You get your damn phone call when I decide you can get your phone call.
