"Shit! Shit! Shit!" I scream with tears streaming down my face as I pull up to the rental agency at the airport. "I can't compete with someone like her so why even try. He lied and still has feelings for her and what we have doesn't matter to him. Why wouldn't he just tell me? I asked him did he still feel anything for her."

I go through security, check my bags, and head to my gate. I pull out my phone and turn it on to see several messages not only from Dani but Razor and Austin. Although I'm heartbroken that I had to leave my sister and the guys that have become my family, and most of all Austin, I have no other choice.

I'm not falling for this “I love you” bullshit anymore. Actions speak louder than words.

"Kira, the man killed to protect you," I mumble to myself.

Actions speak louder than words.

"You don't love someone and treat them like shit and kiss other women. You won’t do this, Kira. Not again.”

Over the intercom, the voice calls for passengers of Flight 434 to Toronto to board, breaking me from my inner turmoil. I send a quick text to Dani telling her I’m sorry and that I can't stay. I also send a quick text to Razor telling him that I'm safe. Right away, my phone begins to ring. Sighing, I cut it off, grab my bags, and board a plane headed for my new life...without my family and without the love of my life.

Demon

It's beena few days since she left, and I still haven't talked to her. I’ve called and sent her texts every single day since she left, telling her how sorry I am and that I need to explain what she saw. But she never responds. She did send a message to Dani the day she left saying that she couldn't stay, and to Razor telling him she was safe. I'm glad she's safe, at least, but I need to hear her sweet voice. I need to hear her tell me she's safe.

Both Dani and Razor have tried to get her to tell them where she is, but she refuses to respond. She knows they will tell me, and I’ll find her. She's not wrong about that. I would drop everything to go to her. I wish she would just talk to me.

"Why want you just talk to me?" I sit on the edge of my bed with my head cradled in my hands and let out all my frustration.

"Austin, you got to give her some time. She's been through so much," Leaning in the doorway of my room with a look of pity, my little sister tries to give me advice.

"Dani, I understand I fucked up, but she won't even let me explain what the hell happened."

"You can't worry about that right now. You are supposed to be at the police station in thirty minutes to talk to the Feds." Dani stands up in the doorway, places her hands on her hips, and looks at me intently. "Get your shit together because if you don't, it won't matter if she comes back. You won't be here."

"I know...I know...I just miss her.

Dani walks over to me and gives me a hug. "You miss her, and I'm pretty damn sure she misses you too, but what's important is to make it through this meeting. We’ll deal with Kira after."

I stand and grab my keys to head to the police station. "All right, call me if you talk to her. And please tell her I love her and for her to come home."

I arrive at the police station and pull up beside Roger standing outside his car. I can't wait for this shit to be over. Pulling out my phone, I check one last time before I go inside to see if Kira has tried to call or text. “Nothing," I mumble to myself. I send her another quick message telling her that I love her and miss her and put my phone away.

I get off my bike and walk up to Roger. "D, man you don't look any better. You still ain't fix this shit with your girl."

"Man, I wish I can say things have changed, but she won't even answer my calls or texts."

He pats me on the shoulders and smiles at me. "Give her some time, man. If she loves you as you love her, she'll be back. Now, are you ready?"

"Yeah man, let's do this shit so I can find my girl."

"Follow my lead, D. They are going to try to make you angry. Get you to trip up. Just do what I say, and everything will be fine."

Nodding, I run my hands through my hair and walk to the front desk behind Roger.

"I'm Attorney Roger Satterfield. My client, Mr. Austin Tyler, has a nine o’clock appointment with an Agent Douglas and an Agent Harris." Roger stares down at his watch, holding a briefcase.

"It will be twenty minutes sir," the officer at the front desk says. "They are in a meeting at this time. You can have a seat over there." He points to the chairs located by the entrance.

"You tell the agents they have five minutes, or my client and I are out the door. My client has taken time out of his busy schedule to be here at the scheduled time." He peers back at his watch. "Tell them they now have four minutes."

I walk over, sit down, and give him a smirk. My old friend is one of the best criminal defense attorneys in the state of Georgia and not one to be messed with. Before he became a lawyer, he rode with the club and was one of our most dangerous members, so him knowing both sides of the law is beneficial to his clients but dangerous for his opponents.

"They really don't know who they are fucking with. They thought they could stall and try to mess with your nerves." He glances back down at his watch and adjusts his tie.
