I rose and swept her into my arms, her head fitting perfectly in the hollow between my shoulder and neck. With her hot breath fanning against my heated skin, my heart rate increased.
I climbed the metal spiral staircase to my bedroom. Other than me, no one had been in here since I’d told Angie it was over, and no one else would be in here ever again unless it was Jade.
I walked through the open door of my bedroom. Moonlight illuminated the room through the floor-to-ceiling windows that lined one wall of the open space.
I eased her down onto my unmade bed, stood back, and stared at her. She sat propped up on her elbows with her legs dangling over the foot of the bed.
“What is it?” she asked, kicking out of her sandals while I removed my boots and socks.
“You look fucking amazing in my bed. I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted you in here.”
Anticipation filled her eyes as I unbuttoned my jeans. She sat up and slowly unbuttoned her blouse, putting on a show. She slid the thin fabric from her shoulders and tossed it onto the floor while I dropped my jeans and briefs and then pulled my shirt over my head, tossing it on the floor. Her full breast hung heavy, and I couldn’t wait to hold them in the palms of my hands.
She stood and removed her skirt. Standing before me like an ancient goddess, I prowled toward her. She lay back on the bed, and I settled between her thighs. Jade parted her lips and rose to meet my mouth. I surged forward inside her tight, wet pussy. The touch of her lips and the warmth between her legs sent a delicious sensation barreling through me.
“I love you, William,” she confessed as she wrapped her toned legs around my waist.
“I love you, too.”
Burying my face in her neck, inhaling her scent, I shared everything I felt for her with each thrust in and out of her warm pussy.
Want.
Lust.
Love.
All of me.

As she lay in my arms languidly running her fingertips across my chest, I wondered if she was ready to talk about the last three months. I wondered why she’d kept her distance from me. I didn’t believe she feared me any longer, or we wouldn’t be lying in bed together right now.
“I can hear you thinking.” She kept her features composed. “Penny for your thoughts?”
“I want to know why you waited so long to come to me, Jade,” I said without hesitation. “I know what you witnessed was horrible, but I had no choice but to do what needed to be done.”
“I struggled with my feelings, William.”
“For me?”
“No. My feelings seeing Sam die. He was someone I thought I’d cared for, but I felt absolutely nothing when you killed him.”
Now, I understood. I wished she would have come to me and not held back. I could have been there for her, helped her navigate the rollercoaster ride of seeing death firsthand and the emotions that came with that.
“Everyone processes things differently, Jade. It doesn’t make you a bad person for feeling how you do about it. I’ve been there. I’ve done some things I’m not proud of and some things I wish I could change. The only thing about that day I wish was different was you being there.”
“You would have killed him anyway?” she asked, surprise in his voice.
“I would have.” I pulled her closer to me and kissed her on the head. “It’s what I do for my club.”
“Kill people?”
“Yes. I won’t lie to you, Angel, and if we are going to do this, you deserve the truth. I’m the person they call if there is a threat to the club that, if handled normally, might come back to Demons United.”
“Sam was rich and powerful.”
“Exactly, so J.D. called me in. I have the skills to get things done quickly and quietly. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I go. No ifs, ands, or buts.”
