“I’m not your girlfriend. We’re not together anymore.” Jade pointed angrily at him. “I want nothing to do with you. I’m here because I thought something was wrong with Miles, Sam. That’s the only reason.”
So, that’s how he got her here.
He grasped her arm, causing her to yelp when he pulled her closer him. I stepped closer, although purposely slowing my steps so not to make him act more irrationally than he already was. He suddenly wrapped his arm around her neck then faced me. She struggled, clawing at his forearm, but he tightened his hold.
“Stop fighting, Jade. Or I’ll fucking blow your brains out!”
That was when I saw it. I’d been so focused on Jade, angered at him for manhandling her, I’d missed the fucking gun. The one he now pushed against her head. I held my hands up, showing I wasn’t a threat, though I was.
“Let her go, Allen.”
If I only could get a shot off without hitting Jade.
Fear of her getting hurt was the only thing keeping me from taking the shot. I had no illusions about Samuel Allen. He didn’t love Jade. The proof was the gun he held against her head. He loved control. What wealthy, powerful man didn’t? But, if I pushed, he’d lose it, killing her without a second thought.
“And why would I do that?” He tapped the muzzle of the gun against her head. “She’s going to join the rest of them since she can’t keep her legs closed.”
“You don’t mean that.” I walked closer to him, hopefully distracting him with our conversation. “Jade is nothing like the women you hurt, Allen, and you fucking know it.”
Jade’s eyes widened. Questions swirled in her eyes. She didn’t know what women, or how he’d hurt them. I shook my head slightly, pleading with her not to say anything. He was already teetering on the edge. I didn’t want her to push him over.
“Of course, she is.” He threw his head back and roared with laughter like I he’d heard the funniest joke. “All women are. If she wasn’t my best friend’s sister, I’d have her in a fucking cage like the rest of the whores. But I might change my mind. She’s got a banging body. I could get top dollar for her. My clients love prim and proper pussy like hers.”
I heard her intake of breath as her eyes slid closed. Now, she understood. She’d been sleeping with a monster.
“So, loyalty to Miles means something to you?” I asked, taking a step closer. I’d brought up Miles hoping it would pull him away from the thought of her being just another woman to someone he didn’t want to hurt. I didn’t believe for one second he cared about anyone but himself, so it was hard to appeal to his connections with anyone.
Allen wasn’t loyal to anyone but himself. Jade was nothing more to him than a pretty prop. Someone beautiful and successful on his arm to show Charlotte’s elites while the ladies of the streets were the ones he truly wanted. The ones he craved. Now that she didn’t want him, she was disposable.
“How would he feel if you hurt his sister, like you hurt all those other women?”
The wheels turned, but the need for control outweighed his commonsense. She was a beautiful woman, and the money he made from the skin trade outweighed any devotion he had to his best friend or Jade.
“No. I think I like my plan for her. She will be my highest commodity yet. I know how good her pussy tastes.”
He licked his lips, then ran his tongue across her cheek.
Her eyes closed, disgust plastered on her face.
“I know how tight and warm her cunt is. My customers will pay top dollar for her.” His laugh echoed around the empty warehouse as he thought of what to do to Jade.
While he planned, I moved closer to them. A few more steps, and I could end this.
“Women like Jade and the others are after a man with money and good looks.” His lips twisted into a sinister smile. “That’s all it took for me to get them and this bitch. I supply my clients, some of the wealthiest and most powerful women and men in the country, with cunts to do with as they pleased.”
“And how many have you killed?” I needed to keep him talking. The more he talked, the less he focused on Jade.
He dropped the gun from her head. “Too many to count,” he said, eyes cold and proud. “I’ve been doing this since high school. You figure it out.”
With the gun no longer against Jade’s head, and while Allen focused on his conversation with me, I only had enough room to incapacitate him before I’d be able to kill him. My eyes shifted to Jade, and fear laced hers, but I had made my decision as soon as I saw the gun against her head.
Close enough now, I aimed for his femoral artery and pulled the trigger. He crumpled to the ground, screamed, and Jade stumbled away from him. He’d bleed out in less than two minutes.
With my gun trained on him, I walked to him and stood over his prone body. Kicking his gun away, I watched on in satisfaction as blood spurted from his wound.
“This is for the women you hurt, and for fucking with my family.” I raised my gun and pointed it at his head.
“P… please,” he choked out, his face twisting in pain. “H… help me.”
