“Shower with me?” Cash asked when I was finally able to wiggle off his lap.

“I could be persuaded.”

“Do you have fancy-pants shower stuff? We have hard water out here, so we might have to get you something for that if you don’t like what I have.”

“I don’t know, your locks are pretty luscious. I think I’ll be fine.”

He gave his hair a toss, offering me another brilliant smile. “We can be luscious together. Also I bet you ten bucks Cooper starts stealing my shampoo now that you’re here.”

“Why would he start stealing it?”

“Because he’s gonna wanna look pretty for you. I’ve been trying to get him off dollar-store shampoo foryears, but he’s attached.”

I laughed, tucking into the spacious shower stall with Cash, settling under one side of the dual heads. “You really think his vanity is going to take a hit?”

“Almost guaranteed. Now, why don’t you be a very good omega and let your alpha make sure you’re all cleaneverywhere.”

My pussy clenched, body thrumming right back to life. “I see the shirt’s gonna have to be a rush order.”

“Don’t pretend you don’t like it.” He backed me up against the tile leaning down to brush his lips over mine. “I knowexactlyhow excited you are for me to touch you.”

The bond might give me away, but it gave him away too. He was a tangled ball of thrilling desire, oscillating between vibes that felt like he either wanted me to get on my knees so he could fuck my face or wanted to get on his knees himself and eat me out until I cried. He’d been really fucking close to that when we were in bed and I had no doubt he would succeed at some point.

“Maybe you should take advantage of that knowledge then, cowboy.”

“Maybe I should.” His eyes lit up and he dipped down to snare my earlobe between his teeth at the same moment his fingers dove between my thighs.

A strangled sound leapt from my mouth.

Cash laughed, a low rumbly sound that had me rocking against his hand. “So needy. Guess your alpha had better take good care of you, right, omega?”

I hooked my elbow behind his head, pulling his mouth back to mine. “Yeah, you’d fucking better.”

“He’s still not back?”

I turned to see Riley stepping into the barn where I was fussing over Buttons, our pregnant bay roan Appaloosa. “Not yet.”

She frowned, her scent sharpening to a distressed burnt sugar. “It’s been hours.”

“Yeah, he does that sometimes.” I held perfectly still as she approached, curling her hands over the fence and stopping close enough our bodies brushed on one side. “How’re you feeling?”

“I’m good when Cash is thoroughly distracting me, but as soon as my brain has a hot second to start processing, it sucks.”

“I can imagine. I don’t think any of us were expecting Cooper reuniting with you to go that way.”

“I haven’t seen him that mad and scared at the same time since his brother Stan locked Morgan in the shed overnight and we couldn’t find her until morning.”

“What the fuck,” I breathed.

“Yeah, Stan was a dick. Not as bad as some of the others, even, but that scared the shit out of all of us. Morgan looked half-feral by the time Cooper broke the lock to get her out. How those two turned out so amazing coming from a family like that, I’ll never understand.” She leaned just a bit closer, our arms firmly touching now.

“Cooper’s a contrarian,” I pointed out. “Saved him from wanting to be like the rest of his brothers.”

“He is that, for sure.” Riley sighed. “Does he have to be one rightnow, though? I mean, I expected him to be mad at me, so it wasn’t a shock, but he seemed scared.”

“Overwhelmed, more likely.” I took a chance, wrapping my arm over her shoulders. She leaned closer, letting her head rest against me. “He’s wanted you longer than I’ve known him. I don’t think there’s been a moment he truly gave up hope on you coming back one day. It’s not my place to tell you everything that involves, but that man’s never stopped loving you. We all knew it when we formed a pack, and honestly, I’d made my peace with never having an omega because of it.”

Riley looked up at me, dark eyes wide and bright. “He still loves me?”
