My blood began changing as I read over the words. Little sparks of knowledge of things I needed to do started flaring to life. It all came as naturally to me as breathing.

It wasn’t only the sacrifices of what the women before me did that changed how I viewed taking on yet another responsibility.

The good they did and the lives they led despite always having someone after them reshaped not only this realm but beings in others.

They were incredible.

They didn’t run off to the other realms and jump into wars like I’d put in my mind when Elementra said she threatened the other creators with her watchers and that they’d keep them in line.

Instead, they sought those who needed them the most. Their blood would sing when someone who was lost and broken entered our realm. They’d find them a home, a purpose, and a place to be.

They nourished this land and didn’t let any area go without.

Their Nexuses were strong. Not just in power but the unwavering love and devotion shared between them was indestructible. They passed it down for generations to come.

Before they truly had to go into hiding, the five territories were as close and unified as ever. It was only once the first daughter was killed that the others pulled back, and everything began changing.

The elitism started and it never ended as the lines began to dwindle down.

It’s going to change now.

Yes, there were times they had to go to other realms and interfere, but they didn’t make themselves known.

Much like what my mom did when she went to Mystara Hollow, they’d do something that would start a domino effect.

They left silent marks.

I don’t believe my mark will be silent.

There’s an inkling in my blood that many are already aware of the changes that are happening in Elementra.

Essemist Keep is most certainly aware. The Gods are as well now that they’re trapped.

When we went back to the nonmagical realm a week ago and I unlocked all the portals, except for the Valorian Veils, there was a shift in the ties. Like the power was more conscious of me now.

I hope they are.

I hope they think twice before attempting to cast Elementra out again.

“Did you get your new present today?”CC’s voice sounds, causing me to close my eyes and smile.

“I did. I’m about to read it now.”

“Finally. Your mother has not shut up about it. She’s going to drive me mad.”

I chuckle and stir the pot.“Can you blame her? Elementra granting my request for you first was a surprise, so it was obviously a simpler process than hers.”

He scoffs.“It was not simple.”

“Really? Then tell me how she did it.”

“Nice try, missy. That is a secret that will stay in the beyond and be taken care of. I’m sure your mother will tell you some things she shouldn’t.”

I roll my eyes.“Fine then. Tell her I’m about to read it now and I love you both.”

“We love you too, filia mea.”

My eyes find the ink again and they fill with tears. I was getting worried I had asked too much or maybe whatever I had done trying to reach Corentin had damaged the beyond in a way Elementra couldn’t work out.
