“I haven’t even seen the place.”

“It’s on land.” I continued to caress her and roll my groin into hers while we talked. “Huge kitchen. Four bedrooms. I’ll pull it up on Zillow and show it to you later.”

“I don’t really care about the house,” she whispered. “Just you.”

“Move in with me. Be mine.”

“I am yours.”

Good enough for now. I sealed my mouth over hers and focused on bringing her to climax. The details of tomorrow could wait. I already had my future in my arms.

And I could be very, very convincing. We’d be celebrating Christmas again all year long, because she was the best gift I would ever receive. I prayed I’d be the best for her, too. I would never be more grateful that I’d stopped for that coffee on Christmas Eve last year.

Her fingers stroked over my cheeks, drawing my gaze. Though her eyes were dark with passion, clarity shone through. “Thank you.”

My brow furrowed, and she smoothed the wrinkle with her thumb.

“You gave me back Christmas.”

I closed my eyes and pressed my forehead to hers. She’d lost her childhood when she was eight. And I’d given her back hope and joy. It overwhelmed me. I drew a shaky breath.

“I will give youeverything.”

“You already have.”

My lips pressed over hers while we moved together again, sealing the moment in the most sacred yet carnal of ways. Heaven and earth. Christmas day and forever after. However, things worked out, as long as we were together, our future would be perfect.

Easter—A Few Months Later

A soft groan of pleasure escaped me as I spooned closer to Alissa, my nose pressing into the back of her neck and inhaling vanilla and the ever present scent of fresh-brewed coffee. She called it the bane of her existence. I called it nirvana.

“Why are you awake?” she whispered. “It’s our day to sleep in.”

“Mmm…nope,” I corrected. “Remember? We’re going to the sunrise breakfast at the Hollister’s? We have reservations.”

“Oh. Right,” she mumbled into the pillows. “Past me thought it was a good idea and she’s stupid. Present-day me had her boyfriend keep her up way too late last night.”

“Are you complaining?” I asked, my erection nudging her and reminding her what we’d been up to—as if she could forget.

“Nope. Okay, fine,” she said, stretching and managing to wiggled from my embrace. “How long do we have until we need to leave?”

“Half hour.” We were in town at her apartment that overlooked Lake Majestic Falls. Sort of. Her unit was kitty corner to the lake, so we could see it if we faced that way on the balcony.Soon, however, we’d be moving to the apartment above my office, which happened to be right next door to her coffeeshop. The living space was being remodeled, but once it was, it would be perfect for when we were in town. When the weather was good, we still went up to our house as often as possible.

“Okay. I’ll be ready in fifteen,” she said, heading into the bathroom. I gave her enough time to do her morning business and turn on the shower before following her inside.

“Getting ready will take longer than fifteen minutes if you shower with me,” she said, looking over her shoulder.

“Hollister’s is only five minutes from here—if I drive slow,” I said, dragging her naked body against me.

She turned, wrapping her arms around my shoulders. Her head tilted back and I pressed my mouth over hers, sinking into the kiss. This woman was the love of my life and I was so lucky to have her.

“I was thinking,” I breathed, resting my forehead to hers.

“Uh-oh. Danger, Will Robinson!”
