I responded, “Only because I didn’t tell her you’re jealous of her,” I mumbled under my breath.
Charmaine’s eyes narrowed. “Say it louder so we can all hear.”
Eshe chuckled, touched my arm, and said, “I’m gonna grab some milk to go with your cereal.” She started to walk off.
I panicked and grabbed her wrist. “Don’t leave me with her.”
She looked back at me, amused.
“Angel said she thinks she’s going to try and put roots on me,” I whispered.
Eshe blinked.
“I don’t want to be a love zombie for her.”
Eshe shook her head and walked off laughing.
Charmaine raised a brow. “So you’re just going to talk about me like I’m not here?”
“You’re right. Sorry. Bye?” I shot back. I jogged off to catch up with Eshe before she could respond.
“You handled that so smooth,” I said.
She shrugged. “How was I supposed to handle it?”
“With jealousy and violence. You’re very good at controlling yourself.” I kissed her on the cheek. “But don’t worry. You’re my favorite girl, number two in my life, after Ekon.”
“So I’ve surpassed Angel?”
I grabbed her arm and stopped her movement. “Yes, because I only see Angel as family. You—I want to eat strawberries out of your pussy.”
Eshe’s breath caught. Just for a second. Her eyes widened and flicked over my lips, then they narrowed like she was trying to keep her expression in check. She was failing miserably. The look on her face made my dick thump. I was pleased I affected her.
I pressed on, dropping my voice an octave. “All you gotta do is say yes, I know you want to. Look at you, I bet it’s wet.”
She stepped back, shaking her head.
“Your duality is dangerous.”
I smirked. “Explain.”
“The way you switch between sweet and filthy like it’s nothing.” She shook her head hard, biting into her lip. “Sometimes you be having me so close to giving in.”
I reached up and dragged my thumb down the line of her jaw. “Baby, I promise you, when you do? It’ll be the best decision of your life.”
She shoved me away. “Stop that. Before I call your wannabe girlfriend over here, she’s right down the aisle behind you.” She looked over my shoulder.
I snatched around. Nobody was there.
“That’s mean, Eshe.”
She threw her head back and laughed at me.
Chapter Fifteen- Eshe
“This where you live?” I asked, leaning forward in my seat as Silas pulled the car into a long, curved driveway. The house was ridiculous. Big as hell. Too big for one person. Modern, clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows all lit up.
“Yes,” he replied like he hadn’t just pulled up in front of a mansion.
