“That’s pretty,” he nodded. “I like it.” He didn’t really want to ask the next thing, but felt he had to if it was involved in the naming of their child. And so he inquired, “What’sHocus Pocusagain?”

She stared at him, eyes rounding, as though he had just said a prayer to the devil. “Oh, my God!” she exclaimed.

“No, because I recognize it obviously,” he tried to save face, but she was sitting up, making him tip over onto his back as she straddled him, pinning him down.

“Tell me you’re joking,” she demanded.

“I can’t,” he said, regretful. “I’ve been meaning to watch it, I think.”

“You think?”

“No, definitely been meaning to watch it,” he corrected. “Who wouldn’t?”

She let go of his arms, sitting up. Her blue eyes were still full of disbelief, one hand moving that soft dark hair of hers to fall behind her shoulders. She was so beautiful. His heart was suddenly full of love for her, and he sat up, wrapping his arms around her, pressing her to him. She hugged his head with a softoof, but he could tell she was smiling.

“Let’s watch it now,” he said. “I want to meet this Dannie.”

“She’s awesome. You’ll like her,” Isobel stated self-assuredly. “Just to warn you, though, I think she spells it with a ‘y’ at the end. And I think we should spell it with an ‘ie’.”

“Oh,” he said, raising his eyebrows. “Sure, makes sense.”

And even though it didn’t really make any sense, it didn’t matter to him if Isobel wanted to spell the name with three ‘a’s and a lower case ‘d’, it felt good to agree. It was good to be on the same page.

“I’ll go ask if they have a laptop to lend us,” she smiled, moving to get off the bed, but he reached out and caught hold of her wrist.

She paused, gaze meeting his and the look on his face must have spelled out exactly what he was hoping she’d do because the following second she was straddling him again. Her mouth met his, lips pressing, tongues playing. He flipped them over so she was under him, snaking his hand into her pajama bottoms, making her huff a laugh.

“Sorry,” she said when he broke the kiss with a questioning frown. “Tickles.”

He smirked, moving his hand in a way that most definitely didn’t tickle. She drew a sharp breath, arching into the touch. Their lips met again, this time in a slower kiss that sent tendrils of pleasure through him. He found the spot where he could feel her stiffen with every movement he made with his fingers, and it didn’t take many seconds before she was moaning into his mouth.

He slipped a finger into her, then a second, keeping her panting as he made her come a second time. This time his erection was straining for release and before he could ask her to, please, do something about it, her hand was slipping inside the hem of his boxers. She pumped hard and fast, without hesitation, in a way that made stars appear before his eyes. He had to break the kiss to not lose the rhythm he had set with his fingers, the two of them gasping in tandem. Both of them broke into smiles over it, unable to stop as they climbed together to a joint orgasm. She came first, her hand slowing momentarily. It didn’t matter. The second she started stroking him again, he came with a soft moan, face buried in her hair.

“Well, that was nice,” she said, mouth against his temple.

He kissed her shoulder as she pulled her hand out of his boxers, getting out of bed to go wash it off. He watched her go, then got out of bed to shed his rather sticky underwear and put on a fresh pair. They’d been given clothes by Milton, who seemed to have prepared for a veritable siege before their arrival.

“It was awesome,” Jay corrected her, watching her wash her hands through the door of the en suite, since she’d left it open a crack.

“Itwasawesome,” she smiled, reemerging as she dried her hands on her top without a second thought. He liked that about her. She felt free, unconcerned with what people thought about her. “Want to watch the movie?” she asked.

“Hell, yes,” he replied.

She smiled again, heading out of the room to see if she might find them a laptop.

Ten minutes later and they were comfortably cuddled up on the bed again, laptop open, and the Disney logo appearing with its happy jingle. He couldn’t help but frown. For some reason, he hadn’t expected it to be Disney.

“Are you going to go visit your parents?” he asked.

“You mean my aunt and uncle?” she asked and he nodded. “I will,” she said. “I want to hear their take on all of it.”

“Shouldn’t you call them?” he asked.

“Maybe I should,” she replied. “But they did lie to me my whole life, so I sort of feel like surprising them with how I know the truth. See their reactions. Look them in the eye while they have them. It’s the only way I’ll know if they regret it.”

“Of course, they regret it,” he said, but she didn’t look convinced. “Well, I’ll go with you,” he stated and when she looked up at him wonderingly, he furrowed his brows. “There are no two ways about it,” he insisted.

“Thank you,” she said. “I didn’t know how to ask.”
