“Like we can’t just be bonded in our hearts? We have to let everyone know that we love each other like lovers who love each other, love each other eternally andeverything?”
“All right, you don’t have tooverdoit,” he shook his head.
She laughed, wrapping her arms around him in a hard hug. He hugged her back, pulling her scent into his nostrils.
“Yes,” she said. “Let’s do the ceremony thing.”
“You’re such a hopeless romantic,” he sighed.
She giggled, kissing his cheek, then his other cheek, then his forehead for a prolonged moment before she moved her mouth to his. She kissed him gently on the lips and he felt like his heart was growing too big for his chest.
“How about a jazz band?” he asked innocently, kissing her gently back.
“What about a jazz band?” she wondered.
“Now who’s repeating what someone is saying back at them?” he inquired, eyebrows raised.
“I’m just asking,” she said. “Wait, you mean for the dinner?”
“Yeah. Since you like jazz and all.”
“I do like jazz.”
“I know, that’s what I’m saying,” he nodded.
“Then why does it sound like you don’t think I like jazz?”
“No, I’m saying because you like jazz, we should hire a jazz band.”
“Fine,” she shrugged.
He was a little taken aback.
“Really?” he wondered. “You hate jazz, don’t you?”
She closed one eye in a wink as though she was thinking about it, then said, “Yes, I do, yeah. It’s horrible. I can’t stand it. Please, don’t make me listen to jazz at our bonding ceremony.”
He threw his head back and laughed.
“I love you,” he said.
“Love you, too,” she mumbled, pressing her forehead to his as they shared another smile.
Her inner dragon flashed in her eyes, and he kissed her.
There was a knock at the door of the cottage. They shared a look. Neither of them was expecting anyone. They both got out of bed, pulling their dressing gowns on as another knock sounded.
“Allright!” Misha yelled. “We’reindecent.”
Kristina chuckled.
“It’s just me,” Aleksander’s voice sounded.
They shared another look.
“Did you know he was coming?” Misha asked.
Kristina shook her head.
