“I sincerely doubt that,” Solo muttered. When Jane looked up at him, he pulled her close and added, “It doesn’t matter.Youare what matters to me.”

Jane melted in Solo’s arms, and Miles couldn’t help his smile.

A bump to his shoulder had him looking up into his best friend’s pale blue eyes.

“Is this the kind of drama that goes on here because, in that case, sign me the fuck up.”

Miles rolled his eyes and pushed Ezra toward the door. Ezra loved everyone else’s drama. He’d figured out long ago that it was because it took away from his own. His dad was a drunk, and his mother was his faithful apologist. They were the reason Ezra had moved into Auggie and Russell’s home at the age of twelve. They were his real family. Them and the other boys.

Not that it kept his parents from reappearing all the damned time. Their holier-than-thou shit got tiring real fucking fast. They always made Ezra feel like he was the one in the wrong. That he’d abandonedthem. He wished Ezra would go no-contact with them, but all he could do without overstepping was to have his friend’s back.

The second they stepped into the clubhouse, Ezra spotted Emma and took off toward her. Miles watched with a shake of his head, unsurprised when Emma pulled one of her knives before Ezra even reached her.

“I hope she stabs him.”

Miles turned to Mika, shaking his head at the devilish look on her face. She blinked innocently at him. “What?”

“Pissing people off is his go-to, but he’s a good friend. He’s just got… issues.”

Mika smacked her lips, eyes gleaming. “Well, he’s your friend, so there’s gotta be something redeemable about him.”

“Yeah, let’s go with that,” he mumbled, fighting a smile.

“Huh,” Mika said, running her gaze across the room. “I see why you called.”

Miles snorted and shook his head. “The house is almost done. I called you for something else.”

Mika’s big brown eyes met his gaze, and before he could say a thing, she was bouncing excitedly.

“Are you doing it?” she asked, her smile leaving dimples in her cheeks.

A laugh burst from him, and he nodded, laughing harder when she squealed and jumped into his arms. The decision had been easy to make, but starting his own construction firm without Mika? No. He needed her if he was going to do this. He needed a partner, and there was no one else he’d rather have at his side.

“I take it we’re doing it here?” Mika asked, gaze shooting toward Kaz for a second before she waggled her brows at Miles.

“Oh, we most definitely are.”

New Freedom had become his home because this was where Kaz was. It was where their family of mismatched outlaw bikers was.

This was their new beginning.

“Well, are you gonna show me around, then?”

Mika turned just as Remy walked past and bumped into her. Remy’s cheeks reddened as she stammered out an apology.

“No need, gorgeous,” Mika said, gaze moving slowly down Remy’s body. “You can bump into me any day.”

Remy watched Mika with wide eyes, her lips parted on a wordless sound. Mika locked her arm with Remy’s and said, “You’ll show me around, won’t you?”

“Uh, sure,” Remy said, her voice hesitant as she shot Miles a helpless look over her shoulder. He gave her a reassuring smile that didn’t seem to help one bit.

Arms wrapped around him, a warm and firm body pressing against his back. He rested his head against Kaz’s shoulder with a hearty sigh.

“It’s never gonna be boring, is it?”

Kaz’s laugh rumbled through his chest, and Miles tipped his head back to meet his gaze, grinning at the amusement he found playing in those silver eyes.

“No, Sweetheart, it will be anything but boring.”

“I love you.”

He was already preparing himself when that smirk formed on Kaz’s face.

“I know,” Kaz said, grunting when Miles’s elbow landed in his side. He caught Miles around the waist and brought him back against his body. “I love you, Miles. I always will.”

Miles smiled and buried his face in Kaz’s neck, the smell of citrus and leather filling his nose as warmth enveloped his body. Home. He was home.
