A smile spread on his lips, and he squeezed his eyes shut, his heart beating faster and faster. This was real. They were really doing this. No more secrets. No more lies. He finally knew everything, and he fucking hated that Kaz thought he would walk away because of it. Yes, he’d walked away twice, but not because of that. He wanted every part of Kaz, and he was done running. He was staying by Kaz’s side. They could do this. Together.
It took him a moment to realize the door had opened and someone was standing in the doorway. His eyes snapped open, and a rush of panic swept through him. Fuck. He’d forgotten where they were.
“Pop made breakfast,” Dad said, his brow furrowed as he ran his gaze over Miles and the man behind him.
“Thanks,” Miles croaked out.
Dad nodded and closed the door as he left. Miles cursed under his breath and tried to pull the covers over his head. He tugged on them, but nothing happened, and then a huff of laughter from behind him had him glaring over his shoulder.Kaz was resting on his elbow, looking down at him with a wry smile.
“I guess I get to meet your dads.”
Miles flopped onto his stomach with a groan, mumbling into his pillow, “You already know them.”
“Not as your old man.”
Miles raised his head, a thrill rushing through him at hearing those words.
“Old man?”
Kaz arched a brow at him. “Boyfriend. Partner. Old man. Husband. I intend to be all of those.”
Heat rose to his cheeks at the thought of marrying Kaz. Fuck. He wanted that. He wanted a ring on Kaz’s finger. He wanted to claim him like that.
He pressed a kiss to Kaz’s lips, lingering just long enough to make the man groan against his lips, and then he pulled back with a teasing smile.
They’d showered before falling asleep last night, so he pulled on clean clothes and found his discarded phone, checking it for messages. There was one from Ezra and unsurprisingly none from his scheming sister. He needed to give her a big hug and thank her.
He went to the bathroom in the hallway to brush his teeth, unsurprised when Kaz appeared not long after. He was wearing his clothes from yesterday, including his cut, looking rugged and so fucking sexy that he had to remind himself he couldnottake them off again. No matter how much he wanted to.
He rinsed his mouth and toothbrush, then said, “There should be new toothbrushes in the cabinet.”
Kaz’s eyes twinkled, and he rested a hip against the vanity, cocking his head to the side.
“I can’t use yours?”
He dropped his toothbrush into the glass by the sink. “No.”
“Oh?” Kaz stepped closer, hands finding Miles’s hips, and before he could protest, Kaz was lifting him onto the vanity and stepping between his legs. “You can eat me out, but using your toothbrush is a hard no?”
Miles swallowed hard, his pulse speeding up as heat rushed through his body. Kaz lowered his head, lips barely a hairsbreadth from Miles’s when he smiled wickedly. Miles surged forward to kiss him, but Kaz stepped back, Miles’s toothbrush in hand.
“Bastard,” he muttered and jumped down, glaring daggers at Kaz before he turned and walked out of the bathroom. He went to his bedroom, quickly shoving his things into his bag, knowing he was going to want to leave as soon as possible. He needed to get that man naked again. Preferably very soon.
He headed down the hallway toward the stairs, hearing the faucet turn on and off. He heard the footsteps next but didn’t turn around or slow down.
He smiled when he felt fingers wrap around his wrist, jerking him around. He was slammed against the wall, Kaz’s hand catching the back of his head. There was nothing better than being trapped between a wall and Kaz’s body. It always turned him the fuck on. He opened his mouth to protest anyway, but all he got out was a muffled moan when Kaz’s lips met his. He tasted like mint toothpaste and dirty promises. He groaned into Kaz’s mouth, hands trailing over any part of him he could reach. He barely got to enjoy the man’s wicked tongue in his mouth before Kaz pulled away, both of them panting for breath.
“Let’s have this breakfast so we can go home. There are things I want to do to you, but not with your parents around,” Kaz said, his eyes filled with dark promises.
Miles swallowed a needy moan and shook his head, trying to calm his raging pulse.
Fingers threaded through his, and then he was being tugged toward the stairs, his hand in Kaz’s. They walked downstairs, and the closer they got to the kitchen, the more nerves fluttered around in his stomach. He needed this to be okay. He needed everyone to be on board with his and Kaz’s relationship because he wasn’t letting the man go again.
Kaz let go of Miles’s hand, and then he felt the gentle press of a hand on the small of his back. There was a cautious air around Kaz, even if he was the most relaxed of the two.
Miles stepped into the kitchen first, Kaz’s hand on his back grounding him and making him fight a smile. Pop was piling food onto plates while Dad stood by the coffee machine.
“Kaz,” Dad said, staring at him with something dangerous in his eyes. He was wearing his cut, and it was pretty clear it was only to remind Kaz who he was. He wouldn’t be surprised if those two turned this breakfast into a pissing contest.
