With her back to me, Eva arched against my chest, surrendering in complete trust. The sensation of her skin against mine was intoxicating.

"I want you, Tristan," she whispered.

"Patience, my love," I breathed, my mouth kissing the hollow of her neck.

I guided her toward the wall, placing her hands against it, my hands and mouth exploring her body to drive her wild with desire. When she was ready, I made her bend forward before entering her in one long, slow thrust. Our moans mingled in the silence of the room. The sensation was indescribable, as always, but today seemed even more intense.Eva moved against me, seeking friction, but I resisted her call. With measured movements, I took the ring from its box.Gently, tenderly, I slipped the ring onto her finger.A gasp of surprise escaped her when she noticed the solitaire on her ring finger.I felt her tense against me, her breathing becoming shorter, more breathless.

"Eva, will you marry me?"I asked against her ear, kissing the sensitive spot just below.

The silence that followed was filled with our mingled breaths, with the exquisite tension of waiting.Gently, I began to move inside her, long, languorous thrusts that made us moan in unison.Pleasure rose in successive waves as I penetrated her, faster and faster, deeper and deeper. Our flesh clapped against each other. Her moans of pleasure resonated in the room, encouraging me to accelerate the rhythm.

"Yes," she finally moaned, "yes, yes, yes..."

Her words transformed into cries of pleasure as ecstasy overwhelmed us both.I held her tight against me, our bodies still trembling from the last waves of pleasure, our hearts beating as one.

Much later, Eva was curled up against me in our bed, her head nestled in the crook of my shoulder. She examined her engagement ring dreamily.

"You're crazy to have chosen such a stone," she gently reproached me."I don't need that to know you love me."

"I know, and I love you even more for that," I whispered, kissing her hair.

A smile subtly stretched her lips while her eyes lit up with a mischievous gleam.

"I didn't say yes," she teased.

In an instant, I found myself above her, enclosing her in the embrace of my arms. Her clear laughter erupted, flooding my heart with pure joy.

"Yes, you did say yes — more than once, if I remember correctly."

"That’s not fair," she protested."It doesn't count."

"Yes, it does."

"No..."

I cut her off with a burning kiss that left us both breathless.

Her voice became soft, almost hesitant when she spoke again:

"Why did you choose to propose to me while making love to me?"

I took a deep breath, my fingers playing distractedly with a lock of her hair.A smile formed on my lips, tinged with a certain modesty in the face of the intensity of her question.

"For me, there was no better moment," I replied, choosing my words carefully."In our relationship, intimacy has always been the barometer of our love. It's not just a physical act, it's our way of connecting, of finding each other beyond words, tensions, or even doubts. Some couples manage to make love even when their relationship falters, or to reconcile. For us, it's different. We need to be emotionally connected to love each other physically."

I paused, letting my fingers draw tender arabesques on her back as I organized my thoughts.

"When we make love, everything fades away. There's no more fear, no more masks, no more barriers. There's only you and me, in our purest truth."

Her breath calmed against my chest, and her attentive silence encouraged me to continue.

"I also know that intimacy is often the first victim when a couple goes through difficulties. When we no longer find the time or desire to melt into each other, it's a warning sign. The absence of intimacy, like our silences, our arguments, or our unspoken thoughts, are symptoms of a relationship that's faltering."

With my fingertips, I raised her face to dive into her gaze.

"I want us to stay vigilant, you and me.I want us to love each other with the same passion and the same tenderness in thirty years.I wanted my proposal to be anchored in this moment of absolute truth.Because loving, truly loving, is what we do best, Eva.I wanted to seal my promise at the moment when I felt closest to you, most authentic."

Her eyes filled with tears, and she straightened up to place a kiss of infinite gentleness on my lips.
