When her body finally stilled, her eyes opened slowly and looked completely dazed. That was my permission. The orgasm hit me like getting struck by fire, every muscle locking as I poured myself into her body.

I finally slowed to a stop, bracing my weight carefully while my cock continued twitching inside her.

She stared back at me like the laws of physics had been rewritten, and I couldn’t love her more than I did right now.

I had to kiss her. Her cheeks, her eyelids, her forehead, anywhere my lips could reach. “You okay? Still with me?”

“Your research methods were extremely thorough,” she mumbled, her words slurred with satisfaction.

“What?”

“I lost all language capabilities around thrust number seven. Very impressive data collection.”

Pride surged inside me so fast and fierce I couldn’t help but laugh, a big, happy sound that felt rusty from disuse but completely genuine.

“I love you,” I said before I could stop myself.

Complete stillness followed, but fear didn't come with it.

Her fingers traced along my jaw. “Good thing. Because I love you too.”

We stared at each other for a long moment.

Then a crooked smile broke across her face like sunrise. “Round two?”

I didn't need words to answer. My hips moved, she gasped, and everything began again. Slower this time, lazier, with love tempering the desperate heat.

I didn't need to worry about breaking her.

She was already mine.

Chapter 24

Feydin

When she finally got up to shower, I found myself grinning at the ceiling like a fool. My mate was happy. Content. The way she hummed in the shower and the casual way she'd kissed me goodbye before disappearing into the bathroom all spoke of someone who was comfortable with what had happened between us.

I was still lying there, basking in contentment, when her phone rang.

“Feydin!” she called from the bathroom. “Could you get that?”

I found her phone on the side table, the caller ID showing a number I didn't recognize.

“Hello?”

“Is this Ms. Osborne?” The voice was crisp, professional, and immediately put me on guard.

“This is her attorney. Who's calling?”

“David Kingsley from Bland, Kingsley & Franks. Ineed to schedule a meeting with Ms. Osborne as soon as possible. We've discovered some new evidence that significantly impacts the case.”

My stomach dropped. “What kind of evidence?”

“I'd prefer to discuss this in person. Would this afternoon work?”

“What time?”

“Two o'clock. Same location as before, the tea shop.”
