“Hey.” She placed her hand on my cheek, her expression growing serious. “I was teasing. I like clingy. I like knowing you don't want me to leave.”

“Ah.” I grinned. Human courtship rituals were confusing. Teasing seemed to be a form of affection, but it was difficult to distinguish from actual criticism.

“I don't want you to leave,” I said. “Ever.”

“Good. Because I'm not going anywhere.”

She kissed me, and I marveled at how natural this felt. How right. Like we'd been waking up together for years instead of this being our firstmorning.

Rolling her over onto her back felt completely natural, like something we'd done a thousand times before. Soon she was making these little breathless sounds and tugging at my shirt, fumbling with the button on my jeans with fingers that shook just enough to make my heart race.

Pulling back gave me the chance to really look at her flushed face, her kiss-swollen lips. “What do you want from me?”

“Everything.” Pink flooded her cheeks and spread down her neck. “I'm on the pill, by the way. Just so you know.”

“You sure about that?”

That tentative smile of hers made my chest feel too tight, too full. “Pretty sure. Unless my pharmacy has been giving me sugar pills for the past few years.” She traced a finger along my collarbone. “Do you want this too? Want me?”

Pressing my face into the curve of her neck let me breathe her in, all warm skin and that vanilla scent that drove me out of my mind. “Hells, yes.” More than was probably safe if she didn't feel the same way about me.

Getting up meant leaving the warmth of her body, but watching her eyes track every movement as my clothes hit the floor made it worth it. When the last piece of fabric was gone, her gaze traveled slowly down my body and back up, lingering in places that made heat pool low in my belly.

“Hells,” she whispered.

“Second thoughts?”

“Just appreciating the view.” Her smile turned wicked. “Come back here.”

Climbing back into bed felt like coming home. This kiss was different from before, hungrier and more desperate, full of promises neither of us had spoken out loud yet.

Studying her face while she held onto my shoulders became my new favorite thing. Those wide eyes looked at me with trust and want and something deeper that made my soul feel settled for the first time in years. “Fair warning, I'm kind of big. You probably saw that.”

“I did.”

“We'll need to take this slow.”

Her teeth caught her lower lip, but her eyes sparkled. “Should I be concerned for my internal organs?”

Laughter bubbled up despite the heat coursing through my veins. “Not quite that dramatic. Just bigger than you in every way.” The admission made blood rush south. “I want this to feel incredible for you, not like you're being split in half.”

“Very considerate of you.” She reached up to cup my face. “I trust you.”

Those three words hit harder than any dirty talk could have. Settling between her legs felt sacred somehow, but rushing would ruin everything beautiful about this moment. Kissing down her body slowly, tasting every inch of skin, loving how she smelled like sunshine and desire, became my only focus.

Spreading her thighs let me kiss the sensitive skin of her inner knee. She flushed deeper but kepther eyes locked on mine, watching every movement with fascination.

I worked my way up her thigh with my lips and tongue. By the time I was kissing the crease where her leg met her hip, those little sounds were pouring from her throat. Glancing up showed her eyes had fluttered closed, both hands gripping the sheets.

“Watch me.”

Her beautiful eyes opened and fixed on mine, her pupils blown wide with need.

I maintained eye contact while kissing her stomach, sliding my hand to her hip bone and between her legs. She gasped and lifted toward me. So slick and hot and wet. My hands shook with the effort of holding back.

“I want to take my time with you.” The words came out strained. “But hells, Dazy, you're making it hard to think straight.”

She stroked the nape of my neck and threaded her fingers through my hair. “Don't think. Just feel.”
