Ty
Looking forward to it.
I get to work and get everything done so I can get my gardens taken care of before heading home. This was a long day, and I finished an entire audiobook just while working. It felt good to get lost in my work and lost in my thoughts about Ty.

As I get to the garden shed, I spot Toad coming up the path toward me.
“Hey there.” I smile at the biker who has a name that doesn’t match his looks. He’s a good-looking man, with piercing blue eyes, wild, long brown hair and matching beard, and he wears the typical leather biker cut.
“I’m great now that you’re here.” He smiles. I know he’s not really interested in me, he’s just a shameless flirt.
“Oh, Toad.” I shake my head. “What are you doing here?”
“Came to see Evan about possibly hosting a biker retreat here this summer. You headed home?” he asks, nodding to the shed.
“Yeah, but I’m not living there anymore. There was a flood, so we’re in the bunkhouse now, rooming with Ty Flynn. You might know him. He works over at the Larkin factory. You work there, too, don’t you?”
“I know Ty Flynn, but I haven’t seen him at the factory. Are you talking about Flynn who works part-time for Sam Sr.?”
“Yeah, that’s him.”
It seems weird that Toad hasn’t seen him at work considering Larkin’s not that big of a place. Maybe they work different shifts?
“Well, I better go, Toad. Evan’s in his office. See you around.”

I get so deep in my gardens that I realize I’ve lost track of time. I need to get back to the bunkhouse for Kase, who’s being dropped off soon by Allie and Logan.
It’s getting dark and the sun is about to set. Logan passes me in his truck, then stops and backs up. “Hey, Mel. Caleb and I had to take off. Kase and Ty are roasting marshmallows, waiting for you.”
“Sounds fun. Hi, Caleb,” I say, waving to him in the back seat of Logan’s truck. “Thanks for dropping Kase off.”
“No problem. We’ll see you tomorrow.”
Watching Logan become a dad has been one of the most heartwarming things imaginable. He’s one of the reasons that I have hope that I can find that again someday. There are good men out there that want a family.
Like Ty.
Maybe someday the thought of being with someone won’t be as terrifying as it seems. Ty does make it easier and easier every day.
I head to the side of the cabin and stop when I hear Kase and Ty talking. I pause and listen because they’re so cute together and I want to hear what they say. I’m a snoop, sue me.
Kase looks up to Ty. “One more?” he asks with a mouthful of marshmallow.
Ty tilts his head as if he’s weighing whether he should say yes or not. They’re sitting in the Adirondack swing together, side by side. Seeing Ty’s massive shoulders set next to Kase’s tiny little frame is just adorable.
“Okay,” he says with a grin. “But if your momma gets mad, you better give her the eyes.” His southern drawl is really coming out now. He tries to keep it in, but it’s really strong when he lets his guard down and is relaxed like he is right now. I wonder why he tries to hide it.
“What eyes?” Kase asks, confused.
“You know, the puppy dog eyes. Like this…” Ty makes a face I can’t see.
“Does that work?” Kase asks curiously.
“Probably not on your momma, she’s smart. Nothing’s going to get by her,” Ty replies. He lances a marshmallow onto Kase’s stick.
