Included among the items were an incredibly sexy pair of hot pink panties and a matching bra.

My heart stopped then resumed beating at a new, much more erratic pace.

Kristal’s clothes. Kristal’s room.Fuck.

Before I could grab my sweaty clothes and flee, the shower door opened, and Kristal stepped out.

Her hair was twisted up in a towel. Other than that, she wore nothing but a look of utter shock.

“Oh,” she squeaked, her hand clamping over her chest as she scrambled for the towel hanging on a hook just outside the shower stall. She hurriedly wrapped it around her torso, but it was too late—I’d seen everything.

And I do meaneverything. All that smooth skin. Full breasts that made my fingers flex on the thin air around them.

The tempting dark triangle at the apex of her thighs.

Obviously, I should have apologized and left immediately, but my body was frozen in shock.

Even though she was now wrapped in the towel, I couldn’t stop my eyes from cataloguing the glorious details in front of me.

The flushed cheeks, the feminine curves, her long, bare legs, the adorable little feet with those bright red toenails.

All that combined with the clean scent of her skin and the sounds of her rapid breathing filled my senses and tumbled my brains.

Nope. Just-friends wouldnotbe happening today. Or ever.

Kristal stared at me, her wide-eyed gaze dropping to take in my sweaty—completely naked—form.

Which caused me to look down at myself.

Fuck.

That Texas-sized erection? It had added California to its territory and was threatening to annex South America.

Finally managing speech and motion, I bent and snagged my clothes from the floor. Holding the shirt in front of me and the pants over my ass, I blurted, “Sorry,” and fled the room before Kristal could scream, “Get out” and grab a can of mace or something.

I berated myself all the way to mynewliving quarters.

How could I have been so stupid? I’d doneexactlywhat I promised Kristal I’d never do—accidentally run into her coming out of the shower. Now she was going to think I did it on purpose.

So much for not making things awkward.

After my own shower—which was of the ice-fucking-cold variety, I opened my laptop to look at real estate listings.

Our lease on the mansion was up soon anyway. Even if the other guys wanted to stay here, it was high time I found a place of my own.

Naturally, I’d keep paying my portion of the lease so Kristal could keep this unit as long as she needed, but either way, this living arrangement had to come to an end—the sooner the better.

Until then, the only thing I knew to do was avoid her as much as possible.

If I couldn’t be her friend, I’d just have to be a ghost.
