Wow, it’s beautiful. You have great style. I’m Mac. What’s your name?

Pretty.

Are you here with friends or… someone?

Do you want to get out of here?

Chapter 5

Cameron

Ryanseriouslydownplayedhissister. I mean sure, it would have been weird as fuck if he said‘Yeah she’s gorgeous, knock yourself out’, but he could have warned me. Gorgeous doesn’t even begin to describe her. She’s breathtaking.

The vision of her when we first arrived is seared into my brain. Messy bun, a pink crease in her cheek from where she’d been sleeping, her top slipped off her shoulder just enough to expose her collarbone. Light brown eyes with long lashes, and her huge, bright smile that, unfortunately for me, was meant for her brother.

She didn’t even notice me until their dad said hi.

At dinner, she barely spoke and refused to look my way, no matter how hard I tried to catch her eye. She’s probably pissed off that I’ve gatecrashed her family holiday and now she has to spend it with a stranger instead of relaxing.

“You boys need another beer?” Ryan’s mum calls down from the balcony to where he, his dad and I are chilling in the hot tub.

Mark drains his bottle. “I could go for one more.”

“Me too,” Ryan says.

“I’m all good. Thanks Mrs Richmond.”

“Please Cameron, call me Cheryl.”

“Will do, Cheryl,” I say, tipping my bottle her way.

It’s beautiful here, sitting in the warm water, surrounded by pure white snow under a sky full of stars. Part of me wished Hannah would come and join us, but the other part is grateful I don’t have to see that woman in a swimsuit right now. Especially not when I’m sitting next to her father.

After dinner, she disappeared to her room while Ryan showed me around the house, and to the room where I’m staying. Right next to hers.

She’ll be in there, in her bed, right on the other side of the wall. I was joking when I said I’d be trapped for two weeks with a woman I couldn’t touch, but now that’s increasingly looking like my reality.

I yawn loudly as the beer buzz takes hold.

“I think I need to take a shower and hit the hay if I’m expected to learn to ski tomorrow. I barely slept on the flight.”

“OK man, see you in the morning.”

“Goodnight, Cameron,” Mr Richmond says. “Good to have you with us, son.”

I climb out, grab my towel, and duck inside. The layout of this place is weird, and I need to walk upstairs, through the living room, then up another flight to the bathroom next to my room. With any other family, it would probably be awkward, but I’m already feeling pretty at home with everyone. Everyone except Hannah, the enigma.

“Oh dear God,” she says, almost bumping into me as she rounds the bottom of the stairs with her nose buried in a book. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there. I just came to get a glass of water.”

I don’t miss the way her eyes trace over my chest, down to my abs, before coming to a stop on the towel around my waist.

“Can’t blame you,” I say, tapping the front cover. “I’ve heard great things about that series. Horny cowboys, right?”

“Right,” she says, plastering her back to the wall as she steps around me.

In my line of work, it’s good business to keep up with what’s popular in the literary world. There’s a lot of crossover between romance novels and audio erotica, and some of my most popular audios were inspired by best-selling books.

I get a good look at her when she walks to the kitchen, her pert ass and short shorts drawing my gaze before she rounds the corner. She has the kind of thighs you want to use for a pillow. Eyes you want to get lost in, soft dark hair that looks perfect for stroking while you hold her tight.
