I didn’t want to know, but it would be weird not to ask after arranging it to begin with.
“Amazing!” Taylor gushed. I had guessed as much by the way he’d come in the door practically floating. “He’s so,sonice. Like, exactly the type of guy you’d spend your whole life looking for. Super hot, too. And very attentive. Polite and sensitive… andkillerin bed.”
My heart squeezed painfully.
“You didn’t!” I choked.
Taylor burst into laughter and patted me on the back as he passed into the kitchen.
“Come on, Robby. We just met. We only went for dinner.”
He poured himself a glass of water, shaking his head.
“But I saw how he used those things. They’re so dexterous. Like fingers but more fluid. He used them to tuck his hair behind his ears and shake out his napkin,” he chuckled. “I can only imagine.”
My heart was racing, my entire body flushed with heat.
Taylor glanced at me, ready to say more, and started laughing.
My hands rose up, covering my cheeks in embarrassment.
“Can you stop sexualizing the guy?” I demanded, backing toward my bedroom. “I’m sure he gets enough of that.”
Taylor gave me a look.
“I’m not,” he insisted. “It’s just hard not to think of it a bit… same as when you go on a date with any hot guy.”
I shrugged.
“He’s more than just the tentacles,” I joked.
Taylor laughed.
“We’ll see. We’re meeting at the doors to the ball on Friday at eight. I can’twaitto see Neil’s face.”
“Uh-huh. You’ll be the belle of the ball. Prince on your arm and all,” I said, rolling my eyes as I finally reached my bedroom door.
The second it sealed shut behind me, I pressed my back against it and let out a soft groan.
Thankfully, I’d gotten away before Taylor had noticed the tightening of my pants that his words had sparked. My imagination was way too vivid for a conversation like that.
I’d never been into the tentacle thing either, but there was just something about Luno. The way he moved alone was enough to make my blood rush. What the hell was with me? I was normally so on top of unwarranted feelings like these, especially with guys who I knew weren’t interested in me. Especially, times infinity, guys who my brother was dating.
Sighing, I pushed the thoughts down, trying to ignore them as I changed into pyjamas and crawled into bed.
But that left me in between the sheets, in the dark, thinking of him with nothing to distract me.
Despite myself, I reached for my phone, opening the messages between us.
There wasn’t much to go on, we’d barely spoken. Was I really just into his looks? I’d never chalked myself up as shallow, yet here I was, hanging on his every word.
Hi.
The moment I sent the message, I wanted to delete it. Great, now Taylor was going to look thirsty as hell… and Luno might want to give him what he wanted. Then I would really hate myself.
Good evening. It was a pleasure to meet you today.
I smiled. He was so polite. That was so rare nowadays.
