“So, we never hung out when you all came to the bar? Or when I come to the clubhouse to party?”
Cara’s eyes widened before she looked at the other ladies, completely baffled. Out of nowhere, she dipped her fingers into her cup of water and started flicking her fingers at Jamie.
Sara grabbed Cara’s wrist, trying like hell to hold back a smile. “What are you doing?” she asked as a giggle slipped through.
“Clearly someone this delusional has got to be possessed.” Cara dipped her other hand and flung more water on Jamie. “The power of Christ compels you!” she shouted.
We all fell out laughing as Jamie hightailed it to a booth where there was a group of ladies glaring at us. I hoped they wouldn’t try anything stupid. Four out of the seven of us were pregnant.
“Cara, your ass needs help,” Bianca choked out. “But seriously, that girl is a bit delulu. We never hung out with her. When we went to the bar, she made our drinks, and when she came to party, she was too busy kissing Capone’s ass. She and her sister, Jayda, were only interested in getting a brother to claim them. Jayda might as well audition to be a bunny based on all the guys she’s been with. How the hell can she say we’ve hung out? We’ve never even held a conversation with her. Hell, that was her first time speaking to us.”
Once Bianca was done with her rant, I didn’t blame Cara for her impromptu exorcism. Jamie was obviously touched in the head.
The rest of lunch went on without a hitch. Jamie and her crew ended up leaving shortly after she embarrassed herself. When we walked out, Blade was parked in front of the building, waiting for Bianca. She explained over lunch that Blade wouldn’t allow her to make one move without tagging along. She was three days away from her delivery date, and he was taking no chances.
Blade stood in front of his SUV, watching the rest of us as we got into our vehicles. It was nice to see how the guys looked after each other’s women. Right as Cara cranked up her truck, a girlI remembered from Jamie’s table came up, slapping her hand against Cara’s window.
“Open this door. Who the hell do you think you are to talk to my sister like that?!”
Cara turned to Sara with a beaming smile, but it was scary. Her eyes were dark, and honestly, I feared for this girl’s safety. I’d heard stories about Cara. She was a chill individual, but crossing her was like willingly walking into hell.
“Cara, don’t,” Sara warned.
“What? I’m just going to ask what’s the problem.” Before anyone could stop her, Cara rolled the window down. “Is there something I can help you with?”
“Where the fuck do you get off talking to my sister like that? I’ve never liked you uppity bitches. Always sticking your nose up at us like your men haven’t been in our be… Ahh!”
Jayda poked Cara in the forehead three times, and that was all it took. Cara snatched Jayda by her hair and pulled her head through the open window. Swiftly, she rolled the window back up, trapping Jayda’s head inside the vehicle. Cara backed out of the parking spot, making Jayda cry out.
“Oh my God! Stop, please!” Jayda pleaded.
“Oh, now you want to act like you got some sense?” Cara mashed on the gas and pumped the brakes, causing everyone to jerk, including Jayda.
Her face was covered in tears. I could hear friends screaming in the background. I looked around and noticed Blade storming across the parking lot toward us while the Ol’ Ladies watched from beside their vehicles.
Just like me, their eyes were wide. I kind of felt bad for Jayda, but she came over here looking for a problem. She wanted to fuck around, and now she was about to find out.
“Cara! Let that girl loose!” Blade demanded.
Cara mashed the gas again and hit the brakes. “See, I’ve been doing good. My man told me he wanted me to chill out and I have. But then stupid bitches like you want to come fuckin’ with me!” she sneered.
I was baffled how this girl was holding a conversation while jerking this truck, damn near breaking Jayda’s neck.
“You bitches like to come to the clubhouse and let them brothers fuck your screws loose, then try and play crazy. But you’re gonna learn, Iamcrazy!”
Jayda was a blubbering mess. She was desperately holding on to the truck. Her friends were now shouting that they were calling the police.
“Cara, let that girl loose!” Blade repeated from behind Jayda.
“No. She wanted to play, so we about to play,” Cara threatened, revving up her engine.
“Please, no. I’m sorry. I swear.”
“Cara, if you don’t let that girl go, I’m calling Mom right fuckin’ now!” Blade threatened.
Cara’s eyes ballooned. “You fuckin’ tattletale!” She jerked the car again before focusing on Jayda. “There’s only one person on this planet I fear, and her name is Crystal Romano. Make sure you thank her if you ever see her because she just saved your life.”
Cara let the window down, releasing Jayda. She wasted no time getting the hell away from Cara.
