Seth took my hand into his as James reached his out to me. I slid the paper across the table, and he opened it up as they leaned in to see what I’d written. James looked at me and said, “We can use Rhys’s computer and we’ll know within a few minutes. Are you ready to know this last answer?”

I looked at Seth then back to them and nodded. “I need this to finally be over. This is the last piece of the puzzle, and after that, I can move on.”

“Let’s get this figured out then,” Devlin remarked.

The four of us stood and left the patio, headed for the war room. As we moved down the hallway, Devlin asked, “Would you have a problem if I asked Lucian and Stella to join us?”

“That’s fine,” I reasoned, knowing they deserved to know as much as I did.

Seth and I continued to the war room with James as Devlin stopped in the living room where everyone was still gathered for Waylon’s service. I felt bad, but the what ifs were plaguing me and I wanted it all to finally be over.

Seth and I took a seat as James went to a cabinet, punched in a code, and pulled out a laptop. Returning to the table, he tooka seat next to me as Devlin, Lucian, and Stella walked into the room.

I looked on as Stella walked over and hugged me from the side, whispering, “I’m here if you need me.”

I nodded, and she took a seat with her brothers across from us. James began to work on something as I bounced my leg, feeling the nerves building.

“I’m in the bank. I’ll put in the information Regan gave me and we’ll see what’s what.” He typed something and his expression grew confused as he looked at the screen.

“What?” Devlin asked.

“The account entry system has a passcode on it, and without it, I can’t even verify if it’s an actual account,” James explained. “And after three attempts, the system locks us out.”

“What the fuck would he use as a passcode?” Lucian asked.

“Probably his own name,” Devlin returned.

Stella sat across from me, looking deeply into my eyes as a sly smile pushed up on her face. Seth placed his hand onto my knee, stopping the bouncing, and I looked back at Stella.

“Little one,” I said, and her smile grew. “Try ‘little one’.”

James typed into the computer and replied, “It’s going through the verification process.” No one said anything and when there was a chime, he leaned over, then lifted his gaze, stunned silent.

“How much is in the account?” Stella asked with a glint of joy in her voice.

“Just under thirty million dollars,” James replied, and then he slowly turned to look at me. “Regan, you need to see this.”

I couldn’t believe the money was real, and I couldn’t believe he used the name he called me as the passcode. James turned the computer, and Seth leaned over as I looked at the screen. Bringing my gaze up, I saw a smiling Stella, a stunned Devlin, and a confused Lucian.

“It says the account owner is Regan Weston.”

Chapter 38

Seth

Stunned wasn’t a good enough word to describe everyone’s reaction to finding out the money was real and, apparently, belonged to Regan. She turned to look at me, confusion and uncertainty was written on her face.

“I don’t understand.” She began. “Why would he put the account in my name?”

“I have an idea, but I’m going to keep it to myself for now,” Stella remarked, and her brothers gave her a weird look, showing their confusion.

Devlin was about to say something when a knock on the door drew everyone’s attention and James replied, “Come in.”

The door opened and Hawk and Rhys walked into the room. Rhys glanced around the room and looked at James. “Stop breaking into my stuff.”

“Stop making your codes so easy,” James returned.

“What’s going on?” Hawk asked as he moved around the table and took a seat next to Stella.
