She’s the love of my life. The only woman I’ll ever love from now until eternity. With that thought, I shoot my cum deep inside her. A fleeting thought of making a baby with her flits through me, and I come harder.

We take a minute to bring ourselves down from an intense high as we stay connected. My love for her sweeps me up and gathers in my soul.

“I love you, Dori.”

“I love you too.” She pushes back to gaze into my eyes. “You are a fantastic lover.”

My feelings for her bubble up and lodge in my throat. If I open my mouth, I may scare her away with what I want to say.

Her sated expression transforms into a curious smirk. “What are you thinking about?”

I shake my head, knowing I’m about to do something impulsive. But I don’t give a fuck. I want this.

She tilts her head to the side and glares. “Jami, tell me what you’re thinking.”

“Marry me.”

“What?”

“I said marry me.” I stare deep into her loving eyes. “Let me rephrase that. Will you do me the honor and become my wife? Will you make me the happiest man on the planet and marry me?”

CHAPTER 17

DORI

My stomach somersaultsand my heart soars, but I’m not sure he’s serious. “Jamison Stone, do not even think of messing with me like that. It’s cruel.”

“I’m not joking. I want to marry you.” He runs his palms along my thighs as his eyes burn into mine. “I know I should’ve done this with a ring and a fancy, intricate date, but I can’t wait. We’ve been through so much, and I don’t want to waste any more time.”

I blink as I try to gauge his sincerity. “I don’t know what to say.”

“Say yes. Marry me, and let’s start a new life together. We’ve loved each other for years. We’re going to be living together, so why not?”

I try to move off of him, but he grips my legs.

“Don’t run away from this. I know what I’m doing.”

“Jami… I…”

“You don’t need to lock yourself away and think about this. What does your heart want?”

I melt into his words. All the special times we’ve shared over the years pop into my memories, showing me how good we are together. We’re friends and lovers.

I remember almost losing him when he was shot and how it almost happened again when I was kidnapped. He’s everything to me.

“Jami, my heart wants to marry you.”

His lips curl up, and his eyes shine brighter than a second ago. “Is that a yes?”

I smile and nod, allowing the joy of the moment to fill me to my core. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

He beams. “Thank you, Dori Fisher, for making my dreams come true.”

I lean into him and seal our promise with a tender kiss.

I pull away, laughing when I do. “We need to move this to the bedroom.”

“Probably a good idea.” He reaches behind his head and whips his T-shirt off, wincing when he does. “Here. Use my shirt so you can make it to the bedroom without dripping everywhere.”
