His brother hugged him harder. “Then we’ve each found our forever after today then, haven’t we?”
Dom had to agree. It was more than he could have hoped for.
Chapter Forty-Two
Jacob
Dom had called him from the car to tell him that Jordan and Charlie would be joining them and that they were bringing the champagne because somebody had proposed today.
Jesus, no pressure then. He rustled up a quick dish of pork and mushrooms that he knew was easy enough to put together and waited for them to arrive. He and Abby laid the table, and he even managed to find some candles in a drawer somewhere. Why he had these, he had no clue.
But he needn’t have worried. The evening was a success, and they all complimented him on the food. Jordan and Charlie were a lovely couple but weren’t planning on getting married yet, and as Charlie still had six months left on her lease, they’d decided not to move in together right now.
He could see the worry on Dom’s face when they first started to discuss it, though, and he reached for his hand across the table. Dom gave him a tight smile, but Jacob could see this bothered him. The more they talked about it, and once he realised it wasn’t imminent, the more relaxed he became, joining in with the conversation.
As Abby started to yawn, Dom looked over at her and nodded to Jacob.
“Well, I need to get these love birds home, and you, young lady, need to get off to bed. You still have school for a few weeks yet. And you”—Dom grabbed the front of his shirt and planted a kiss on his surprised lips—“I will speak to you tomorrow.”
Jordan and Charlie thanked him for a lovely meal, and as he walked them out, Dom followed along, stopping at the front door. He handed the keys off to Jordan.
“Don’t even think about driving.” Jordan laughed as he strolled towards the car with Charlie.
Dom turned to face him, and Jacob looked into his eyes. “Thank you for coming tonight and bringing your brother and Charlie. I hope they enjoyed themselves too.”
“They did and thank you. I know it wasn’t quite the night we had planned, but it was perfect for them and us.”
Jacob kissed him. It wasn’t urgent like their previous kisses; it was slow and sensual, and Jacob could feel both him and Dom getting hard as their bodies pressed together. If they didn’t stop—well, he didn’t want to think about that now.
Dom pulled away first. “Fuck, I need to go; else I’ll bend you over and fuck you right here.”
Jacob wasn’t against that but didn’t think it was a good idea right now.
“Next time. I need you, and soon. It’ll never be enough with you.” He watched as Dom turned and walked away, trying to adjust himself as he walked. Jacob laughed as Dom raised his middle finger in salute, then turned and gave him a cheeky smirk.
“Love you, babe,” he shouted to him and was shocked when Dom ran back, launching himself into his arms, wrapping his legs around his waist.
“Love you too, sweetcheeks.” They kissed again, managing to keep it part-way decent. “I’ll see you soon.”

Several nights later, Dom was back at Heaven with Jacob along as chaperone and, most importantly, boyfriend. Each time he thought about it, he chuckled, and Dom would just laugh at him, but he didn’t care. He’d told Colin and Lindsay and had even mentioned it to Jodie, who had smiled and said she was glad he was happy.
His appointment with the Governors was tomorrow afternoon, and he’d been preparing all week, hoping he had all the right answers and that they could see how much he did want this job.
But tonight was about Dom. He was understandably nervous after last time, but Toby had assured him that they had enough security and all would be well.
Thankfully, there was no paint this time, though his shorts were as short as before, showing off his muscular body. He wore small, nude-coloured dance shoes, which would offer him the grip he needed but allow him to move gracefully across the stage too.
As Dom prepared to go on, Jacob could hear Toby readying the crowd. It sounded as if there were even more people than before, and although Dom was trying to centre himself, Jacob could see the tell-tale signs of nerves. He shook out his arms and legs, and his breathing quickened. Jacob took his face in his hands and stroked his cheeks with his thumbs, trying his best to calm him.
“You’ve got this, baby. You know you do. How many times have you done this by now? Too many to count, I’m sure. I’ll be out front watching you, and don’t forget that there is security this time, so no one will get to you. Especially not if I’m around.” Jacob gave him a brief kiss. “But most importantly, though. I love you. OK?”
Dom closed his eyes and took a calming breath, letting it out slowly. He did it again until Jacob could see he had it under control.
“Thank you. I love you too. I know you’ll be there out front, but I’ll need to concentrate. Don’t want to end up in a heap at the bottom of the pole, now do I?” He gave a nervous laugh but did seem to be more in control than he was a moment ago.
A knock on the door signalled that they were ready for him. Jacob gave him another quick peck on the lips and brushed his hair out of his eyes.
