After a day spent cleaning and tidying the kitchen, sorting out the cupboards and throwing out that tin of beans that had been sitting there since 2016, he collected Abby from school, fed her and drove them to the hall.
As he walked through the door and saw Dom standing there in all his glory, his heart skipped a beat, and he knew there and then that he was going to have that man and call him his own, no matter what.
Chapter Thirty-Five
Dom
As soon as Jacob walked through the door with Abby, his heart skipped a beat. This guy, this man walking through the door, was quickly becoming his world. The first thing he thought of in the morning, which was mighty handy when he was feeling horny, and his last thought at night.
Jacob handed over his usual coffee as he bent, kissing his forehead. Dom loved these kisses, these feather-light brushes. His skin tingled where Jacob’s lips touched. It took his breath away, and he didn’t think he’d ever get enough.
Reluctantly, he stepped away, taking a sip from his cup.
“Well, we’d best get a move on today. We have plans for later. You still up for it?” He winked at Jacob, loving the way just this act could make his cheeks redden.
“Of course,” Jacob replied. “We’ll go home when you’re done to get showered and changed, and we can meet up with you by the racecourse. It’s close for you, and you can walk there, right?”
“Yep. I can’t wait for you to show me what you know, teach,” he said in a suggestive voice.
Jacob blushed again. “I’m full of useless information, not sure it’ll be anything you haven’t heard before.”
“We’ll see about that, Jacob, we’ll see.” He moved over to the sound system. “Now, Abby. Let’s get this show on the road.”
For the next hour, Dom put Abby through her paces. She was improving week on week, and he was thinking of mentioning something to Jacob about a couple of auditions that were coming up in the area. He knew she was planning on going to university, but it could be something fun for her to do until she left.
At the end of the lesson, they went their separate ways, agreeing to meet up shortly. Dom drove home, showered, changed and walked back to the racecourse, the apartment only a few minutes away.
When he arrived at their arranged meeting place, he could see Jacob leaning against a railing, his phone in hand. He looked hot as fuck. His hair was slicked back off his face, and he had a scruff going on his jaw that tensed as he concentrated on whatever was on his phone.
Dom stood for a moment, drinking him in. He watched as men and women alike checked him out then smiled, realising Jacob was totally oblivious to the attention.
Jacob looked up from his phone and straight at Dom, as if he’d sensed his presence. Dom almost swooned at the bright smile he gave him. It was blinding, lighting up his face, and Dom stood rooted to the spot as this hunk of a guy moved towards him. He grinned, knowing that his smile was for him alone.
As Jacob reached him, he lifted him and swung him around, ignoring the stares and tuts as Dom squealed.
“Put me down. What the hell?” Laughter burst from him, and he put his arms around Jacob’s neck, snuggling his face into his neck.
“Oh my God, Jacob. Stop being so embarrassing!” Abby wasn’t impressed with this show of affection, but right now, Dom didn’t care. Jacob did as he asked but not before he placed a scorching kiss on his lips.
“Now, I’m ready to go. Come on.” Jacob took Dom’s hand in his, its heat searing his skin. They walked up the stone steps and onto the walls, walking side by side, Abby a little way in front. “Do you want me to tell you all about them? We did a class project a year or so ago. Some parts of the wall are over 2000 years old, and Chester is the only city with a complete circuit of defensive walls. When the Romans were here, the city was known as Deva—”
“Mr Greyson, that is interesting information to know. What else can you tell me?”
“Not much more. They’re about two miles long, and you can see the hills of Wales. You can step off them into the city at any time, either at the shopping centre or the Cathedral gardens.” Jacob laughed. “But trying to get a bunch of six-year-olds to remember something that isn’t Minecraft or Fortnite these days or doesn’t involve flossing or dabbing… Well, let’s say it can be a nightmare.”
Dom watched how his face lit up as he talked about the children he taught, then dimmed as he remembered the situation he was currently in.
They carried walking along, hand in hand, Abby still a few feet in front of them, glued to her phone.
“Have you heard any more from the school?” Dom hadn’t had much time to talk to him since yesterday.
“Yes, Jodie called me after you’d left. She seems to think things will go in my favour, but she still wants me to take the week off.” His shoulders drooped as he sighed. “They don’t feel that it’s my fault. We both know I did nothing wrong, and Jodie says she and the Governors think so too. She also said she thinks the complaint won’t be upheld, but, at this point, I have to wait.”
Dom squeezed his hand. “It’ll be fine, you’ll see. I don’t see how they can even consider that dickhead’s complaint. There’s no basis to it. It’s nothing but homophobic bullshit. We both know that schools don’t put up with that anymore.”
Jacob shrugged and looked off to the side. Dom could see that this was still upsetting him, so he decided to change the subject.
“I was thinking we could go out, maybe this weekend? I’m sure Jordan or Seb won’t miss me for one night. We could go out for a meal or some drinks. What do you say?” Dom glanced sideways at him.
