“Where’s Abby? Is she not coming with us?” Dom was a little disappointed. He really wanted to get to know her better, but on the other hand, he was also glad to have some more time alone with Jacob.

“She gave me some flimsy excuse about having homework that needed to be handed in tomorrow. Truthfully though, I think she’s playing cupid. Not that she needs to. I think we’re past that already, aren’t we?”

Dom put his hand on Jacob’s thigh, right at the top, next to his groin. “Yeah, I think we’re past that. Anyway, where are you taking me?”

“I thought we could go to a nice little restaurant I know, seeing how it’s the two of us now. It’s Italian. Is that OK with you?”

“Mm, yeah, I love Italian. Haven’t had it in a while, so it’ll be nice for a change.”

They drove in silence, Dom’s hand still resting on Jacob’s leg, and occasionally, Jacob would shift, as if uncomfortable.

“You OK there?” Dom gave his thigh a squeeze and inched his little finger to the right, grazing his cock.

“Yeah,” Jacob squeaked out. “But if you don’t want me to crash the car because I’m not concentrating, you might want to move your hand a little.”

Dom being Dom, though, moved his hand so it sat directly on his very hard cock. “Like this, you mean?” He laughed as Jacob squirmed in his seat.

“Not quite, but I suppose you may as well leave it, now it’s there.”

Dom continued to run his little finger in circles, feeling the hardness grow beneath his hand, but all too soon, they arrived at the restaurant.

“Hey, I’ve been here before. The food’s great.”

“It is, but I’m probably going to need a minute before I can get out of the car. Someone has got me all worked up.” Jacob turned to look at him. “Are you sure you want to eat?”

Dom gave him one last squeeze and opened the car door. “I’m hungry for something, but let’s start with food first.” He winked at Jacob and stepped out of the car.

He heard Jacob get out and looked back to see him trying to adjust himself discreetly before walking inside. He squealed himself, though, as Jacob quickly stepped up behind him and gave his arse a thorough grope and a quick slap before opening the door and stepping inside.

After they’d been seated and ordered their food, Jacob reached for his hand across the table.

“So, care to tell me what happened on Friday now? I know about your brother and am assuming he’s all right because you’re out with me, but why did you want to call it off? Call it a day?”

Dom wasn’t sure how to explain it all now. In the light of day, it seemed ridiculous, but when he’d seen his brother, it had all made perfect sense.

“I thought I couldn’t have this again, that I didn’t deserve to have what I wanted.” He paused, trying to put into words what he meant. “I had a relationship back in Vegas, but the guy cheated on me, with two waiters for fuck’s sake, as if this wasn’t enough for him.” Dom gestured to his face and smirked.

Jacob laughed, but sat wide-eyed, and Dom wondered if he’d gone too far already. It wouldn’t be the first time.

“Anyway, I left as soon as I saw him with them and was sleeping on a friend’s sofa until I could find another place, and that’s when I got the call about Jordan. It caused me to rethink what I’d been doing. Arsing around the world, dancing and having a good time when he was there, working his butt off until ultimately, he had the accident that stopped all that for him.

“I came home and realised how selfish I’d been. I’d not come home for years and only kept in touch by Skype occasionally and the odd call or text around Christmas and birthdays. I’d essentially cut off my family. When I thought I’d lost him… When he was in that coma for two months and then in traction because of his injuries, well, I thought about my life and realised that I needed to make some changes. One of those was to stop dicking about and be there for him, to help him when he came out of hospital. Just be there. So that’s what I’ve been doing for the last twelve months.”

“And I’m sure he’s grateful, but why don’t you think you deserve a life? We all have the right to one even if you think you don’t.”

“It’s like it’s a punishment for everything I didn’t do before. Until he has his life on track and is back to work, I can’t have mine. When I say it out loud, it sounds so ridiculous, and after meeting you again, I want to have that and more.”

“Sounds intriguing, and don’t think I’ve forgotten about your promise with the tie. That is going to happen.”

“Oh, bet on it, my own personal He-man, and if you start with the sassy mouth, I might have to gag you as well.”

At those words, Jacob’s eyes widened.

“I see someone likes that idea too. Soon, baby cakes, soon.”

At this point, their food arrived, and they talked and joked as they ate. Was it a date? Dom thought it was. After all, it was just him and Jacob, but he didn’t want to presume. When the bill arrived, Jacob snatched it up before he could.

“I told you I’d pay on our next date. So this one’s on me.”
