“I’m good, but I do need a favour, though.” He removed himself from Jacob’s arms, opened his bag and brought out his pot of gold body paint. “I need you to paint me.”

Twenty minutes later, Dom was dressed in his shorts and sparkled gold. He’d spared Jacob’s blushes and turned his back when he undressed but was secretly pleased to hear his breath catch as he bared his arse.

He’d managed to grab a few minutes with the dancers to go over some of the set he had planned and was feeling a little better about it, but the nerves still ate at him.

“So, what time do you start? It’s ten fifty now,” Jacob asked.

“I said I’d go on at eleven. You’ll be out front watching, won’t you?” Dom couldn’t understand why he was so nervous about this gig. He’d danced in far worse places than this. Fuck, this was palatial compared to some clubs he’d worked in, but it wouldn’t do him any good to back out.

He’d hoped to pick up some work in other clubs, and he had no doubt at all that Toby and Owen wouldn’t hesitate to bad-mouth him. He’d upset them enough by not agreeing to sleep with them, not that he thought there’d have been much sleeping involved.

“Come here.” Jacob pulled him closer, but Dom stopped him.

“Don’t. You’ll get paint all over your shirt.” He wanted to tell him later, when he’d washed all the paint off him. Tell Jacob he could join him in the shower towashall the paint off him. He was about to say so when there was a knock at the door.

“Come in,” Dom called out and Owen opened the door, his perfectly styled hair and fake tan making him look more plastic than ever.

He looked Dom up and down, a lascivious grin on his face. “You look fucking amazing. The guys out there are gonna go wild when they see you. Fuck, you sure you won’t change your mind? We could have a shit ton of fun.” Owen’s eyes lingered on Dom’s dick, and before he could say anything to him, Jacob had stepped up to Owen, his bulk dwarfing the Ken doll.

“He’s already told you no. Don’t make me have to tell you again. I,we, don’t share. Now, say what you’ve come to say, then fuck off.”

Owen backed out of the room, getting braver the further he walked away from Jacob. “Whatever, you’ve got five minutes,” he said before turning to Dom. “Hope he’s worth it.”

Jacob stepped towards him, and Owen almost ran from the room, the door bouncing off his back in his haste.

“You are so going to get it when we get back to your place later.” Dom pressed his gold lips to Jacob’s for a moment, then pulled away, wiping the traces of paint from his mouth, but before he could move back, Jacob kissed him, harder and longer.

“I want them out there to know who you’re with tonight, and if anyone tries anything, you tell them to back the fuck off. This is your mark…on me, and if I could leave a mark on you, right now, I would. Now go out there, shake that fucking gorgeous arse and show ’em the best dancer they’ve ever seen.”

Dom gave Jacob his usual flirty grin and wink, and Jacob slapped his backside as he turned away.

“Go get ’em, tiger,” Jacob muttered in his ear as they walked out the room. They both stood at the side as Toby took to the stage and quietened the crowd. Dom looked at the number of people and was shocked to see how many there were. He wasn’t convinced they were all gay either and could see a few who might actually be trouble.

Well, there was no turning back now. He needed to man up and own that fucking stage like he’d done before. He took a couple of deep breaths to centre himself, shaking his hands and legs out as he waited. He felt Jacob’s light touch at his back as the crowd cheered, Toby winding them up even more as he read out Dom’s competition wins.

“So for you dancing pleasure, let me bring to the stage, Dom Tyler.” Dom took one final breath and climbed the steps to take centre stage. The lights dimmed, and he bowed his head. He replicated the stance of the angels on either side of him. This wasn’t something he’d rehearsed, but it felt right, and as the bars of Todrick Hall’s ‘Expensive’ sounded out around the club, his nerves fell away, and Dom the performer was back. Dom, the guy who could whip up a crowd with his moves. Dom, the guy who was going to drive them wild.

He started to grind to the music, and as he glimpsed Jacob at the side of the stage, he winked. A huge grin split his face. He was back. He was fucking back!

Chapter Eighteen

Jacob

Jacob watched as Dom held the crowd in the palm of his hand. He had never seen him in his element before. The lessons he had with Abby were tame by comparison. This was something else.

This was something special. This was Dom doing what he did best. This was Dom giving it his all, making grown men whistle and cheer like rabid animals. Jacob was mesmerised and couldn’t take his eyes off him as he slinked around the stage like a cat, and as the two dancers Toby had mentioned joined him on the stage, Dom interacted with them and rubbed himself against them, smearing the gold paint he wore across their naked bodies.

Jacob couldn’t help but think how sensual that was, and he wanted it to be him. It was certainly giving him a stirring below.

As Dom stopped dancing and the song came to an end, the crowd roared its approval. Dom stood breathless, his head bowed again as the spotlights swept the stage.

“OK, thank you for being here tonight.” Dom lifted his head and just about managed to be heard over the crowd. They quietened as he motioned for them to lower the noise.

“Hopefully, we can make this a regular thing.” The crowd cheered, and Dom gave them a cheeky grin. He quietened them again and continued, “You’ll need to speak to Toby about that, though.”

“Where’s your pole, Dom?” a voice shouted from the audience, and the crowd laughed. Jacob swore he heard a couple of boos in there, but as he looked out into the sea of people, he couldn’t see anything out of place.

“Show us your pole, Dom.” Another voice rang out. They all laughed again, and Jacob was sure this time he heard some boos, and as he looked over at Dom, he saw a brief flicker of uncertainty cross his face, but it quickly disappeared.
