“Yeah. The first time I seen her, I knew she was the one for me. Them curls, lips, and her whole shy demeanor just takes my breath away. I want her real bad. I need her by my side.”
“Peel, you live an interesting lifestyle. Hevyn don’t know shit about the streets. She’s used to the quiet and soft life that my pops, brothers, and myself have created for her. Is this a short term thing or long term?”
“Long term. I’m going to marry Hevyn.”
“How you know that already?”
“Forever is the only thought in my mind when I see her,” I answered honestly.
Vo nodded. He continued to look at me. “You break her heart, I’ll break every bone in yo’ body. How she looks now is how I expect her to look every time I see her. We on the same page?”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less. I know you know what I do, but Hevyn is who I want to share my life with. I’ve never looked at another woman the way I look at her. I ain’t never felt this way before. I’m a hard ass nigga with a crazy ass past, but I got love to give. So yo’ blessing means to world to me. Can I pursue Hevyn? I swear I got her covered.”
Vo nodded. “We been locked in since we were boys. You got my blessing. Now how else can I help? You need her number or anything?”
I laughed and stood from my seat. “Nope. I gave her twenty-fours to contact me after I gave her my number. Hevyn’s time is up. I’m about to pop up at her job.”
Vo chortled. “Oh, shit. If she ain’t text you, how in the hell do you know where she works?”
I wiggled my brows.
“Man, you know me. I been put a tracker on her ride,” I responded truthfully and unashamedly.
Vo shook his head. “Aye, I ain’t even mad at you. Sometimes, you gotta get a little crazy for the woman you love. Handle yo’ business.”
“You feel me, bro.”
He walked around his bar, and we shared a bro hug before he walked me out his house. I climbed in my car and sped off to my girl.
After a few hours of sleep, I made it to the rich ass neighborhood that Hevyn worked in. There was nothing but expensive ass two and three level family homes and tall ass trees that surrounded me. It was seven in the morning, and the sun shined brightly.
I reached out to Haylow and found out that Hevyn got off at this time. Hay said Hevyn was a traveling night nurse for babies. I had no idea what a night nurse was, but once Hevyn was off, I planned to ask her twenty-one questions.
It looked as if I stalked Hevyn, but that wasn’t the case. As a Virgo male, my values were different. I was practical, analytical as fuck, and a perfectionist. Whatever I set my mind to, I had to complete it. What helped me achieve my goals were order, discipline, and structure. My mind and heart were set on Hevyn, and I would get her.
The time was 7:05 a.m., and my eyes were glued to the dark blue door. Any minute, my butterfly would walk out. I licked my lips, and as if that was the password, my butterfly stepped onto the front porch.
A woman followed behind her with an infant wrapped in a blanket. They smiled and said their goodbyes. The lady with the baby waved and closed the door behind Hevyn. My eyes scanned a welcome sign on their porch that readThe Kors. I shook my head. Some rich people didn’t know how to be subtle or low-key.
Hevyn tiredly strolled to her car. She probably thought she’d be able to go home right away. I had other plans for her though. It was game time. I climbed out my truck and swaggered over to Hevyn and stepped in her path. She stopped in her tracks with a deer-in-headlights expression on her face. Her brows furrowed seconds later. Hevyn looked around at her surroundings then back at me.
“Wha-What are you doing here, Cache? Ho-How do you know where to find me?” Hevyn inquired, stumbling over her words.
I clasped my hand over my wrist and stared at her. Hevyn looked beautiful in her powder blue scrubs that were covered in small white clouds. Her curly mane was out and framed her small, round face. Hevyn’s lips were moisturized with what I assumed was her favorite gloss.
The tired look on her face expressed she was ready for her bed. There were so many naughty thoughts that flashed in my mind as I gawked at her. Why couldn’t she see and understandhow serious I was about her? Hevyn had no idea how she made me feel, but she was about to learn.
Hevyn shifted her weight to the other foot. I released a deep sigh before I walked closer to her and removed the two bags she held.
“The last time I saw you, I told you, you had twenty-four hours to contact me. You didn’t reach out, so I made good on my word and popped up. I have resources, Hevyn, and I’m serious about you.”
“Cache.”
She said my name so softly. Her tone of voice sailed through me and stopped at my dick. It pulsed a bit in my pants, but now wasn’t the time to be a horny nigga.
“Come on, butterfly. I’m taking you to breakfast. While there, you can give me the chance to get to know you better.”
“Cache, I look a mess right now, plus I’m tired.” She slightly pouted.
