“Nigga,” Jabari turned toward Saadiq, startled, but quickly recovered and mugged his cousin before severing eye contact with him just as quickly. “Gon’ somewhere wit’ that bullshit. I ain’t never been no hoe ass nigga. And I ain’t ya bitch. So you better fucking chill on talking to me like one.”
“Jay, I call ‘em like I see ‘em nigga. I’mma talk to ya weak ass exactly how you been moving. And you definitely been acting like one, hiding from me and shit.” Saadiq clarified with emphasis on the utmost disrespect.
“Hiding? Nigga, ain’t nobody been hiding from you,” Jabari chuckled nervously, signifying that he’d been indeed doing just that. He drained the remainder of the bourbon in his glass. “You don’t scare me. I’mma whole fucking pilot, I’m rarely ever in town. So whatever you heard nigga that shit ain’t true.”
Saadiq released a sarcastic chuckle. “You in town plenty, muthafucka. But you have been moving funny as fuck ever since the minute I told ya ass I was moving back home. Now I couldn’t figure out why that shit was until Zia and I fucked around and crossed paths again. She had some interesting shit to say about me cheating on her. Imagine my muthafuckin’ surprise when I found out that she thought that fucked up shit.”
“So, Sid. I’on give a fuck,” Jabari shrugged. “The fuck that shit gonna do wit’ me? Sounds like a you problem, nigga.”
“Nah, Jabari. It’s ayouproblem, nigga. And you gon’ pay, but I’m curious, though, bro, why did you do the shit? Why go through all that just to set me up, just to break us up? You know I was gon’ ask Zia to marry me that fuckin’ night, nigga. You went wit’ me when I picked out the fucking ring. The fuck typa fuck shit was you on, bro?”
“Nah, what the fuck was you on, Sid, my nigga? I saw her ass first. I was going to talk to her first, but I gotta a phone call. She was supposed to be my woman. She was supposed to marry me. You get enough shit handed to you in this muthafuckin’ life.I’ve watched you screw over bitch after bitch growing up. And then you did the shit all over again once we were grown, nigga. I watched you break hearts without a care in the fucking world, and them dumb hoes still wanted you. I didn’t understand that shit. I rarely got any bitch because they all wanted you. But Zia wanted me, I could feel it, and I wasn’t about to let you do that to Zia. She was mine. I’ve hated you forever since that fucking day. Shit, since I couldn’t have her, I wasn’t ‘bout to sit back and let you have her. I could tell that for the first time ever that you was really in love with her, so I knew she was special. I knew she was my woman. I asked her out after she left you, though, and she turned me down, but only because you tainted her. And I hated you even more for ruining my one shot at real happiness.”
“Nigga,” Saadiq asked after growing even more annoyed with the situation. “You did all that because you was jealous you couldn’t pull no bitches, and you blamed me? Jabari, Zia wanted me all along. She told me the shit herself.”
Sarcastic laughter tumbled from his lips as Jabari shook his head. “She’s just telling you that now that you don’ fucked her head up.”
“I ain’t you nigga. I ain’t gotta fuck wit’ nobody’s head to make ‘em love me, Jay. Zia is mine. She been mine and gon’ always be mine.”
“She won’t be for long, Sid. Believe that. I’mma go snatch her up real soon, win her back, and nut my baby up in?—”
Before Jabari knew what hit his ass, he’d tumbled to the ground after Saadiq punched that nigga dead in his fucking mouth. Jabari didn’t even get a chance to blink before Saadiq followed him to the floor and beat his cousin’s ass like he would have done a nigga on the street. He tuned out the screams and shock from everyone in the restaurant as he beat that niggas head in. Blow after blow to his face, Saadiq unleashed more and more anger as blood splattered everywhere until he felt threesets of hands trying to pull him off Jabari. But Saadiq got in another punch before a fourth set of hands helped drag Saddiq off of Jabari and toward the door.
“You feel better nigga, happy you got that shit off ya chest?” Jabari asked as he held his bleeding nose and busted lip. “You stupid nigga. And just so you know, Zia was ready to believe everything that was said to her anyway. I sat in the whip listening and watching her every move. She was fucking relieved that you fucked up. She couldn’t wait to run as far away from you as possible. She just packed up and moved on with her life like you wasn’t shit. You ask me, I wouldn’t want no bitch that ain't trying to fight for me.”
“Shut the fuck up, Jabari. Before I finish beating ya head in, muthafucka. You calling me stupid when you let two bitches scam you out of thousands is hilarious, bro.”
“So,” Jabari shrugged. “Still got bread, I ain’t hurting for a damn thing. Worry about ya bitch instead of my bitches. That’s why Zia’s gon’ leave ya punk ass again, you stupid fuck. She’s scared to love yo’ hoe ass. And this shit ain’t over, Sid. This is far from over.”
“For your sake, it better be, Jay,” Saadiq warned as they were both dragged into the lobby to be detained in a private room near the help desk until the police arrived.
“Fuck you, I’ll go fuck that bitch and then send her to hell. Don’t threaten me, Saadiq,” Jabari yelled as police sirens sounded in the distance. “I’ll kill her ass, and won’t neither one of us have her. Keep fuckin’ wit’ me, nigga.”
“If you even look like you ‘bout to lay ya pinky on Zia, I’ll cut you open while yo’ bitch ass is still breathing and dump piranhas in yo’ fucking insides, nigga. Don’t play wit’ me, you know how the fuck I get down.”
“Do what you gotta do then, muthafucka,” Jabari yelled as he stuck his middle finger up at Saadiq. “But I’mma take that pussy and then bury her ass next to ya momma.”
Saadiq broke free from two of the security guards that were still holding him, but the police rushed inside just as he went for Jabari again and drew their guns.
“Freeze!” Both police officers yelled, stopping Saadiq in his tracks. He wanted to slam Jabari’s head into the concrete wall, but not if he had to get shot over it.
Saadiq clenched his jaw and mugged his cousin as he was immediately handcuffed and escorted out of the small room and outside to the police car. Jabari was cuffed and escorted out right behind him.
Fury raced through Saadiq’s veins as the cop merged into traffic and headed to the MillerPointe police station. His thoughts raced a mile a minute. He hated that he let Jabari bring the beast out of him. When he first pulled up to the hotel, his plan was just to get a fucking explanation for the fuck shit he did, but once that ignorance left his fucking mouth, all Saadiq saw was red-hot anger. He hated that he let Jabari push him over the edge like that and that he didn’t have more self-control.
All I had to do was walk the fuck away…
Shaking his head, Saadiq took a deep breath and sorta just stared out into space as his parents crossed his mind. He thought it was wild that even at his big ass age that he would give up everything he owned just to be able to talk to his mom and dad just one more time and ask them for advice.
While his grandma did everything in her power to try and fill the void left in his heart by his parents’ demise, they both knew that most days, the void was just too big. And it only hurt his heart even more that his grandmother was now in heaven too. While shaking away his sadness, Saadiq realized they were pulling into the police station. After he was escorted inside, hesat through the annoying ass process of being questioned about the incident. Luckily, neither was charged with a misdemeanor, but they had court hearings set up for their fines. After he called Truce to bail him out, he was finally released.
“I knew you was gon’ fuck that nigga up, Sid. Knew he was gon’ say some fuck shit to trigger the fuck outta you. That’s low down, like a muthafucka, what he said. Shit, I woulda kicked that nigga’s head in too. I can’t believe that nigga said that shit.”
“Thanks homie, I appreciate you bro,” Saadiq said as he and Truce headed toward his ride.
“Sid, all the time you bailed me out and kept me from murking niggas. It’s all good, my dude,” Truce nodded at Saddiq as they climbed in the ride and he headed out of the parking lot. “So I ain’t even stressing that shit, but what I am worried about is you murkin’ that nigga. If we ‘bout to be on the run nigga, now is the time to speak the fuck up. What’s the plan?”
“Nah, his weak ass already stole enough of my life. So, I’mma let him be as long as he stay the fuck from around Zia. I am gon’ beat that nigga’s ass a few more times though. Break a few bones and rearrange his face. Maybe cut off all his toes except the pinky toes. And rip off that nigga’s index fingers on both hands.”
