“Girl bye, I’m straight ‘cause you won't ever catch me saying no dumb shit like that. Ever. And you know I’m telling the truth, Britt. I gotta be extra cautious with Saadiq. He’ll have me head over heels for him and sucking his dick if I ain’t careful.”
“Shit, sucking dick ain’t gon’ do shit but make everything all better, Zia. So, gon’ and do that and speed up this whole process of y’all getting back together. You’ll be a lot more relaxed and happier.”
“Britt, you need to see a therapist, love. Like yesterday.” Zia cackled at her sister’s foolish shenanigans.
“Chileee, don’t I fucking know it.”
“Well, at least you know. Anyway, I gotta get going. I don’t like leaving what I think might be good dick waiting.” Zia grinned as she grabbed her purse and phone and headed toward the front closet.
Laughing, Brittany shot back. “Well, you should because dick hits so much better when it’s thirsty for the pussy anyway.”
“You know what, bye, crazy.” Zia chuckled as she headed toward the door. “I’ll call you later. Be safe and have fun, sissy.”
“You too, Zia. And don’t be afraid to take my advice. I have a guaranteed success rate for encouraging dick downs.”
“Get off my damn phone, Britt,” Zia giggled as she switched wallets, grabbed her keys, and headed to her ride.
“Fine, I’m out. Love you, too.”
Grinning, Zia climbed behind the wheel, put her phone on the charger, and turned on some music as she backed out of her driveway.
On the whole ride to Belle’s Southern Dinner House, Zia kept trying to focus on Ray, but all she could think about was Saadiq. Raymond Burner was a good guy who wanted to date Zia exclusively, but because he lacked the edge and everything else that Zia wanted in a man, she was determined to keep things casual. If his head and dick game wasn’t better than most, she would’ve let him down easy a long time ago.
That and the fact that she genuinely enjoyed spending time with him when they did get together. Unfortunately, Saadiq’s return had her mind so far gone and focused solely on him that she felt like she was going insane by trying not to think about him. Since Raymond was her favorite jump off, and he had a sexy ass cousin, a few years older than him, who was feeling her too. Zia planned to present him with a one-night-only offer for a threesome with them, if they were down tonight.
Although she’d never had a sexual relationship with more than one man at a time, she hoped it would provide her with the distraction she needed to shake Saadiq’s hold on her, which is why she said yes to Raymond’s last minute date night request.
While Zia was nervous as shit, she was desperate to get rid of all these resurfaced emotions. She was determined not to let Saadiq break her heart again. Especially when she was now closer than ever to falling for his bullshit all over again. As if Saadiq knew she was thinking about him, his name flashed across her phone’s screen just as she merged onto the I-696 on-ramp. Rolling her eyes, she took a deep breath and answered.
“Yes, Saadiq?”
“Aye, you love getting a rise outta me, don’t you?” A frown followed his question.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not sure what you mean.” Smiling, she merged into the fast lane.
“You know exactly what the fuck I mean. Why the fuck would you answer the phone like that? I been dicking you down good as fuck, so I know that lack of dick ain’t the problem. Not wit’ the way you been cummin’ hard as fuck and limping around and shit, but I promise you, Zia, you better figure out whatever the muthafuckin’ problem is and handle that shit before I solve that shit for you.”
“Uh, like I said, Saadiq,” Zia snickered under her breath. “I don’t know what you mean, but if you’ll just get to the point of your call, that would be great.” She urged as she merged into the slow lane and lowered her speed as she approached her exit.
“Where was all this mad shit talking when you snuck ya scary ass up out my crib the last time I saw yo’ fine ass? You always did prefer to run. You know you wanna be my wife though, so quit all this childish ass behavior and let’s gon’ and make this love one for the history books.”
“Saadiq, please.” A smile spread across her lips. “We not about to play these games. Matter fact, if you’re not calling me to reconsider letting me expand my business into?—”
“I already broke that down for you, but if you let me come snatch you up and take you to the Drive-In, you can plead your case again. My mind is already made up, though, but I enjoy listening to the sound of your sexy ass voice so much that I’on even care about you repeating some shit I already gave you the answer to.”
“You really are touched, aren’t you, Saadiq?” Zia cackled as she approached the restaurant. “Mentally, you’re just not home, huh?”
“Baby, I ain’t no more crazy than you or anybody else, I just choose not to hide my imperfections.”
“Saadiq,” Zia laughed even though she really didn’t want to entertain this man’s ignorant behavior. “Being a fucking psychotic lunatic is not an imperfection.”
“Well, that’s what I’ve always understood the definition of the word to be, and I’ve never had any trouble with being misunderstood whenever I say that shit to anybody else. So, can I come scoop you or nah?”
Whew, Jesus! Of all the men in the world, how in the hell did I fall in love with such a mentally unstable madman?!
“No, you can’t. I got a date tonight and I plan to enjoy every minute of it.”
“So what?” Saadiq mugged her as if she could see how annoyed he was through the phone. “Cancel that muthafucka. That nigga ain’t more important than me and what the fuck we got going on? Besides, that’s the least you can do for avoiding me the last few weeks wit’ yo scary ass.”
