He released my hand and brought his to the back of my head, pulling my lips to his and kissing me until I didn’t know which way was up. Stepping back, he winked at me and left me breathless in the room as he turned on the water to fill the giant tub. After testing the temp, he walked back to me and asked, “Do you need help getting into the tub?”

I shook my head, and he kissed my cheek. “I’ll be right back.”

He walked out of the room with a swagger in his hips as I stared at his tight ass. Smiling to myself, I felt my kiss swollen lips and giggled. I slipped my shoes and socks off, placing them to the side before I reached down and pulled my shirt off. My bra, pants, and panties followed next, and I stepped up to the tub, testing the temperature.

It was warm and inviting, so I stepped over the side and sank down in the quickly rising water. Moaning into the room, I felt the knots working out of my back from the last days’ worth of tension. Closing my eyes, I relaxed into the water and waited for Dalton to return.

“Fuck, you’re beautiful,” he said, and I opened my eyes to see him sitting on the edge of the tub, looking at my naked body under the water. He reached over and turned the water off as steam rose into the room. “I thought this might make your bath better,” he suggested and pulled out a joint.

“You think of everything,” I said and smiled at him.

“I’ll try, but if I fuck something up, please, Grace. Don’t run from me again.”

I sat up and placed my wet hand on his knee. “I’m sorry. I never meant to leave, but it was all too much, and I let my fear win. I promise, I’ll only run to you, never away.”

He kissed me, brushing his tongue against mine, and I sighed when he pulled away. He pulled up a chair and spoke softly, “Lean back.”

Following his instructions, I settled into the water as he lit the joint and inhaled, getting the end glowing before bringing it to my lips. I took a draw off it and watched as he carefully pampered me. When we were half finished, he snubbed it out and grabbed a washrag from the cabinet.

Wetting the rag, he poured some bath gel on it and encouraged me to sit up. I rested my chest on my propped-up knees as he washed my back and arms. Sitting back, he cleaned my chest, keeping his eyes on mine and never pushing past the soft care he was giving me.

“I’ll let you . . .” He blushed, and I took the rag from him and washed the rest of me quickly.

Grabbing some shampoo from the edge, I wet my hair and washed it, rinsing it in the water and sitting up to wipe the droplets from my eyes. I was relaxed and happy as Dalton extended a towel between his two spread arms. Stepping out of the tub onto the bathmat, I smiled when he wrapped the towel around me and lifted my damp body against his chest.

“I can walk, Dalton.” I chuckled as he carried me to the bed and gently placed me down.

“I know you can, but that doesn’t mean you have to. I like having you in my arms,” he admitted, and I blushed. “Let me get you something to wear until I can take you shopping tomorrow.”

He grabbed a Death Hounds T-shirt from a drawer and lifted a pair of boxers. “Would this work?”

“The shirt will be enough, unless you’re expecting company.”

He closed the drawer and walked to me, handing me the shirt. “No company. Just you and me, babe.”

I stood from the bed and kept my eyes on him as I let the towel fall to the floor at my feet. His gaze turned heated, and he licked his lips as I pulled the shirt over my head, hiding my nudity from him. I could see his hard length pressing against his jeans, and I wanted to touch him, to feel him.

Somehow sensing my need, he took my hand and kissed it with a smile on his lips. “Food next, darlin’.”

He guided me out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. Picking me up, he placed me on the cold counter and stepped between my legs. “I have burgers and fries on the way unless you want something else.”

My stomach grumbled again, and I shook my head, replying, “Burgers sound perfect.”

He pecked me on the lips and explained, “I’m going to take a quick shower. Do you need anything?”

I shook my head, and he helped me off the counter before jogging through the living room into the bedroom. I could hear the shower turn on as I sat on the couch and picked up the TV remote. I wasn’t much for television, preferring to engross myself in books, but until I could get back to my place in Alabama, I’d have to settle for what was available.

Some mindless show about nothing was on when I heard the shower turn off. Watching the doorway, I waited for Dalton to reappear when a knock sounded on the front door.

“Food’s here,” I shouted, and Dalton yelled back.

“I’ll be right there.”

There was no need for him to rush into the room when I was right there, so I grabbed a blanket from the couch and wrapped it around myself, not wanting to be indecent. I stood and walked around the couch to the door just as Dalton appeared from the bedroom.

“I’ve got it, Grace. It’s one of the prospects.”

I shrugged and returned to the couch as he walked to the door and opened it. “Hey, man. I didn’t know you were back already. I want you to come in and meet Grace.”
