She looked at me and smiled softly. “I want to meet your family, but . . . this is the first time I’ve left the area since I moved here, and I’m a little anxious.”

“There’s no reason to be anxious. Portstill is great, and my house is just outside the city limits on a beautiful lake. My sister is dying to try your amazing pies, and Jacob keeps emailing me, asking when we’re coming to visit.”

They were partial truths, but I knew once they met her, they would love her like I do. She twisted her hands in her lap, and I waited, knowing sometimes she needed a minute to work through her emotions. Finally, she spoke quietly, and I understood her apprehension. “What if your club doesn’t like me?”

Leaning over, I brought her lips to mine, kissing her softly until she relaxed under my embrace. Pulling back, I stared into her eyes as I explained. “They are going to love you. The Death Hounds are a family. If you’re important to me, you’re important to them. Besides, I don’t need their opinions when it comes to my old lady.”

She smiled at me, and I winked, hoping that I dispelled some of her worries. She opened her door, and I followed, taking her hand into mine at the front of the car and walking back into her house. When the front door closed behind us, I tugged her, spinning her around until she crashed into my chest.

Looking up at me, her blue eyes twinkled in the morning light as I leaned her back and kissed her until we fought for breath. Standing her back up, I gently popped her on her ass and explained, “I have a sidecar that will hold a small duffel bag, so pack light. Anything that won’t fit, I’ll buy for you when we get to Portstill.”

“What do I pack?” she asked, and I led her into the bedroom, encouraging her to sit on the edge of the bed.

Sliding the closet doors open, I pulled out a few pairs of jeans, a couple of T-shirts, and one thick hoodie. Tossing everything onto the bed, I explained, “You just need whatever undergarments and bathroom stuff that will fill out your bag.”

She looked at the small pile and back to me, unsure as she asked, “That’s all the clothes I’m taking?”

I leaned over, caging her against the bed as she fell onto her back. Following her down, I kissed her again, pushing my tongue into the wet recess of her mouth until she was wiggling under me. When she was sufficiently placated, I pulled away slightly and replied, “I plan to keep you naked most of the time.”

Standing up, I adjusted my hard cock in my jeans and explained, “I need to run home and pack a few changes of clothes plus get the sidecar hooked up. I’ll be back in less than an hour. Can you be finished packing by then?”

She nodded, her lips swollen, and her eyes glazed over with lust. “I’ll be ready.”

Walking to the door of her bedroom, I looked back at her propped up on her elbows against the bed, her eyes looking straight into my soul as I told her, “I’ll be back, baby.”

IPACKED UP MY LAPTOPand the few articles of clothing I had with me before hooking up the small sidecar to my bike. With any luck, the only time we’d be back down here was to pack Grace’s house to move her to Portstill. Sending a quick text to Sadie and Devlin, I let them know I was coming home with Grace. Devlin responded first, telling me we needed to meet soon, and, in my gut, I knew his digging into Grace’s past was garnering information.

Sadie asked if she needed to stock the cabin with food, and I thanked her, sending some suggestions on things I knew Grace liked. My sister was going to make Grace feel welcome, and I know they will become good friends.

We had been on the road for two hours when we stopped for gas. I’d offered to let Grace ride in the sidecar so she would be more comfortable, but she said she wanted to ride with her arms wrapped around me, and I wasn’t about to argue with her request. Feeling her pressed against me had my cock hard as steel in my pants, and all I wanted to do was bend her over the bike and fuck her until she couldn’t stand.

One day, I’d take her every way I wanted to, but until then, until she was able to release the demons who plagued her mind, I’d give her the space she needed.

“Stretch your legs and make sure you use the bathroom while we’re here,” I explained to her as I stood from the bike and started pumping gas.

She climbed off the bike and pulled her legs up from the knee, stretching the muscles before she walked into the store. I finished pumping the gas and followed her inside. The store was clean, and I looked for Grace before seeing her exit the bathroom in the rear of the store.

“What would you like to drink?” I asked, and she grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler.

Mimicking her, I took the two bottles to the register and tried not to punch the young kid behind the counter who was checking Grace out while she browsed the display near the register. Clearing my throat, he met my gaze, and his eyes grew wide before falling to the floor.

The further north you went, the more prevalent the Death Hounds were, so I knew the little shit recognized my club or at least one of our chapters. We were known for violence, so checking out my woman could be grounds for an ass beating.

“Are you ready?” I asked Grace as I handed her a bottle of water.

“Yep,” she replied, and I took her hand, leading her out of the store and letting the kid know she was mine.

For the next six hours, we would drive until we needed fuel before stopping. I thought Grace would complain about being sore from the drive, or her attack last night, but she kept a smile on her face and climbed back on the bike. She was too perfect for words, and when we pulled into Portstill shortly after midnight, I could feel her exhaustion in her grip.

“We’re almost home, baby. Just a few more minutes,” I yelled as I drove the backroad to my house.

She nodded against my back and gripped tighter into my waist as I traversed the familiar road. I inherited the house when Uncle Mick died a few years ago, and slowly, Claw, the club’s VP, and I have been improving the cabin. What used to be a two-bedroom bachelor pad was now expanded to a five-bedroom, two-story house that I wanted to fill with kids.

I turned down the road leading to my house. Pulling down my tree-lined driveway, I felt the tension seeping from me, knowing Grace was here with me, safe and mine. I could feel her take a deep breath as the cabin came into view and the floodlights turned on, casting the parking pad and front of the house in lights. I glanced in the rearview side mirror for her reaction.

Her blue eyes grew wide, and her mouth fell open as I pushed a button on the bike and a garage door began to rise. The attached garage was added last year and housed my truck and three of my four bikes. Pulling my newest one into the open space, I felt relieved to finally be home.
